"They're almost here. Humanity passes through this place every time. Everyone, prepare for battle at any moment!" Lord of Ice's voice reached the dozen or so Universe Lords behind him.
All the Universe Lords carefully controlled the surrounding space-time, concealing themselves as they cautiously awaited the coming battle. This was not their first clash with Humanity, and they had gained a deep understanding of Humanity's methods of fighting.
They knew how powerful Humanity's Universe Lords were, and they also knew what made them different. The number of people mobilized for each operation had steadily increased. Now, facing a single Human squad generally required more than a dozen people—two or three times the enemy's numbers.
After all, aside from their secret techniques, Humanity's most troublesome asset was their Supreme Treasures. A single Peak Treasure could reverse the course of battle, yet among Humanity, Peak Treasures were standard equipment. Combined with their other Supreme Treasures, the strength they could unleash was even greater.
"Hmph, those people can only hold on by relying on their Supreme Treasures. If not for the enhancement of Peak Treasures, why would we need so many people?" one Universe Lord said, his tone full of resentment.
"So what if they're strong? Aren't they trapped inside that tiny Temple now? Even when they come out, they have to be extremely careful."
"That's right. Humanity's survival will only grow harder. Forces like the Purple Moon Sacred Land and the Divine Eye Race are all coming. Humanity's range of activity will shrink further. They may even become turtles hiding in their shells and retreat back into the Original Universe."
"No way. Doesn't Humanity still have the Star Controller? Back then, he defeated dozens of True Gods and hundreds of Universe Lords. Who in the Sea of Universes could accomplish that now?"
