Several mid-level Great Hollows of the Adjuchas class, bearing traits of insects such as grasshoppers and crickets, respectfully reported to Barragan, who sat upon his throne.

Barragan vented loudly from his throne, his heart filled with boundless fury toward Ikkomikidō.

At Barragan's roar from his throne, the Great Hollows who had pledged allegiance to him in Las Noches Plaza all retreated several steps.
They feared being caught up in the mad Barragan's wrath and inexplicably being decayed into the sand and dust filling the sky by that powerful force symbolizing aging.
According to legend, the floors of Las Noches had originally contained no sand at all. The thick layers of sand were the remains of Great Hollows slain by Barragan.
Among those remains were warriors who had challenged Barragan's status as the Hollow King and been killed by him, as well as subjects who had somehow died after incurring his wrath.
