Ten years passed in the blink of an eye...
Kenpachi had continued training under Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto for another ten years in the Captain's Office of the 1st Division.
Over those ten years, Yamamoto had taught Kenpachi everything he knew about the four foundational abilities of Soul Reapers—Zan, Hakuda, Hoho, and Kido—as well as his own insights into training with a Zanpakuto.
Unfortunately, Kenpachi's talent for Kido was practically nonexistent. His Shunpo had only barely reached the beginner level before he stopped training it altogether. In Kenpachi's view, a skill like Shunpo was only for getting around, so being able to use it was enough. As for Kido, he had no interest in it whatsoever. Still, he studied Yamamoto's swordsmanship and Hakuda with great seriousness.
It had to be said that Kenpachi's talent for swordsmanship and Hakuda was simply astounding. In just over two years, he had learned all of Yamamoto's sword techniques. It gave Yamamoto the illusion that he was once again teaching Araki. As for the remaining eight years, Kenpachi had spent them continuously improving his swordsmanship and training his Bankai...
Yet regrettably, although ten years had passed and Kenpachi had become increasingly proficient in using his Zanpakuto's Shikai, he still could not grasp the core of Bankai.
So, Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto decided to let Kenpachi return to the 11th Division for the time being. Kenpachi was still very young, after all. He had plenty of time to slowly explore his Zanpakuto's Bankai. There was no need to rush.
Before his departure, Yamamoto seemed to recall something. He summoned the young Kenpachi to his Captain's Office and looked at him as he held his Zanpakuto in his arms. "Kenpachi, what would you do if you came into conflict with the judges of Central 46?"
"First, I would obey
