Listening to the intermittent voice, Jensen turned around.
Beneath the tree, the once beautiful and wild female Vanya had decayed beyond recognition. After uttering those final words, she died completely.
Her Vanya's Eyes gave Jensen one last look before her body collapsed, scattering purple motes across the sky.
"Die!"
Bang
Jensen finally stopped restraining his fury and killing intent. He turned and pulled the trigger.
The Truth Rifle fired Truth of Death.
Empowered by the divine force of the Thorn Master, the Plunderer hatchling that had devoured countless kin, radiating a cold and evil aura, was instantly blasted into minced flesh. Yet the expected spray of gore did not occur. The pieces of flesh and mechanical constructs abruptly collapsed inward.
Intense black, green, and yellow light erupted in a tangled burst. When it faded, a peculiar "tombstone" stood before Jensen.
It was shaped like an obelisk, its surface covered in a viscous hide similar to those warships. Black-green hair swayed across it, and dark yellow eyeballs covered it, but everything was rigid and devoid of the slightest trace of life.
Jensen did not possess Omniscience to cheat with. He could only judge through his own senses.
He hesitated and pondered for a moment before slowly pressing a finger against the bizarre obelisk tombstone.
Boom
The black, green, and yellow radiance surged forth once more. The information transmitted into Jensen's mind showed that Midoriyah had not lied.
Killing the final Plunderer warrior granted him a tombstone.
Though it was called a tombstone, it was more like some kind of "loot reward."
It offered Jensen two choices, one of which he would never consider.
He looked back at the other tree. The female Vanya had fallen without leaving behind any relic, and Jensen could not obtain even a single memento to remember
