"Was that the real... moon?"
Qin Ming stood in the woods, studying the soft light between his fingers. Wisps of Lunar Yin Force seeped slowly into his skin.
"It's dense, and purer than the power I used to draw from the sky."
He could scarcely believe it. This moon had not been hung there by human hands.
"So it isn't there to lure moths into the flame? Nothing to do with baiting a fishing spot?"
Qin Ming's expression changed. This New World was deeply mysterious, and its cultivation environment was far better than those places he had known before.
He looked up. He had seen more than one "moon," but the ones before had all seemed rather false.
Tonight was a special night for him.
He was seeing a real moon for the first time, and excitement stirred in his chest.
"The moon the ancients saw is lost to us, yet the moon tonight once shone on them."
Was this what lay beyond the night fog?
Had the ancients and the people of today looked upon the same Lunar Star?
"All these years, was it merely hidden by the fog, invisible to those on the ground?"
Yet Qin Ming still had questions. Some mighty figures could pierce the dangerous night. Could they not fly to Above the Moon? Why had he never heard of anyone doing so?
As those thoughts came, a shadow fell over his heart again.
He stared into the depths of the night sky. "Perhaps I'm thinking too simply. There's probably more to this, and it may well come with danger and disaster."
Qin Ming gradually calmed himself. "If I expect nothing, nothing can disappoint me. I'll take it as it comes."
