Battle, Old Goat Demon

"Take a few men and come with me to Daxing Village!" Chu Jiang's expression changed. His figure flashed as he immediately darted toward Daxing Village.

He suppressed his killing intent with all his might, forcing himself to calm down.

The demons had left a note, calling him out by name.

Their target was not the common people, but him. Massacring villages was merely meant to provoke him, to make him witness such scenes while being powerless to stop them.

Within Baishi County, only that flock of goat demons possessed such cunning.

They were born fond of playing such tricks.

"The next one will most likely be Daxing Village!"

He had awakened in Daxing Village, where he had slain the pig demon and Great Demon Tianxie's offspring.

If his guess was right, he would be walking straight into the demons' trap.

If his guess was wrong, Daxing Village would be destroyed.

Liu Ding and Li Dagang hurriedly led several men after him.

But Chu Jiang was simply too fast, and he soon vanished from sight.

Fortunately, they all knew where Daxing Village was, and each of them began chasing after him with all their strength.

Just as Chu Jiang neared Daxing Village, he heard a miserable scream from within the village.

Chu Jiang's speed surged once more as he stepped into a dilapidated courtyard.

Inside, a middle-aged woman was being savagely devoured by a Black-skinned Dog Demon. No matter how desperately she struggled, it was all in vain.

Beside her stood a girl, crying out in despair.

"Mother... no..."

The middle-aged woman looked at the girl, wanting to say something. But her throat had already been bitten through, and blood kept gushing from her mouth. She could not utter a single word.

This mother and daughter were the Su family mother and daughter, the family whose home he had stayed in that night.

At the very end of her life, she saw Chu Jiang. A flicker of hope appeared in her eyes, along with a pleading gaze.

It was as if she were saying, save my child.

"Die!"

Clang!

The Blood Sun Saber instantly left its sheath, a blood-red streak tearing through the sky.

The Black-skinned Dog Demon felt a chill down its back. It threw aside Mother Su and turned to flee.

"You want to run? Where do you think you can run to?"

The Blood Sun Saber seemed to have locked onto the Black-skinned Dog Demon. It struck squarely into its back, cutting it in half at the waist.

Its entire body split into two. The immense force carried by the blade shattered it into two heaps of mangled flesh that fell within the courtyard walls.

Chu Jiang's gaze remained icy. He scooped Su Yan'er into his arms and left the area.

He could sense that the demonic aura within the village was extremely dense. There was far more than one demon here.

If he left the girl behind, she would very likely fall victim to the demons again.

Inside a thatched hut several dozen meters away.

A Black-skinned Dog Demon lay sprawled atop a cowshed, its movements grotesquely twisted, howling incessantly with scarlet eyes.

Chu Jiang focused his gaze and saw that this Black-skinned Dog Demon was doing something to the cow...

The cow kept letting out mournful cries, but the Black-skinned Dog Demon seemed not to hear her at all.

Chu Jiang grabbed with one hand. Light flashed around his foot as he stomped hard on the Black-skinned Dog Demon's charging part. The dog demon struggled with all its might, yet could not break free in the slightest.

"Chu Jiang, it is this cow's blessing that I am favoring her! How dare you stop me!" the Black-skinned Dog Demon roared. Clearly, it knew him as well.

"Aw!"

The Black-skinned Dog Demon suddenly felt a chill. It abruptly realized that it was missing something important, and an indescribable agony swept through its entire body.

Its dog eyes rolled white, and it nearly suffocated.

Its pitch-black claws immediately reached downward, only to touch a lump of bloody flesh. It nearly fell into despair.

"I want you dead!"

The Black-skinned Dog Demon felt that all hope in its dog life had been utterly extinguished, and it let out a furious roar.

However, Chu Jiang's next stomp landed directly on the Black-skinned Dog Demon's head.

Crack!

Splat!

First came the sound of its skull splitting apart, followed by the sight of brains scattering in every direction.

The Black-skinned Dog Demon died on the spot, and before its death, Chu Jiang had even let it experience a uniquely sour thrill.

Chu Jiang soothed Su Yan'er with his hand, then looked around.

"Aw!"

"Wuh!"

"Urgh!"

The Black-skinned Dog Demon's screams alerted the nearby demons. They began roaring madly and gathering at high speed.

An Old Goat Demon with two black demonic markings between his brows appeared before several demons. He carried a massive axe on his back, his gaze indifferent as he looked coldly at Chu Jiang.

"Chu Jiang, I knew you would come. I guessed right."

The Old Goat Demon revealed a sinister grin, seemingly thrilled by Chu Jiang's arrival.

"You came alone. You have guts!"

His elder brother always said the time was not yet ripe, that they could not seek revenge and needed to wait longer. But today, he insisted on cutting down this bastard.

To offer him as a sacrifice to his nephew's spirit in heaven.

"My nephew was so clever, a great talent of our goat demon clan. Yet you killed him. How dare you? Ah..."

"Today, I will make you pay with your life!"

Chu Jiang narrowed his eyes at the Old Goat Demon and laughed wildly. "Not only did I slaughter your nephew, I'll slaughter you too..."

Chu Jiang set Su Yan'er down, then instantly vanished from where he stood and appeared behind the Old Goat Demon.

The Old Goat Demon's expression shifted slightly as he immediately turned around. A blood-red long saber was already swinging toward his head, and he felt as though the sky itself had filled with blood shadows.

Two axes were instantly drawn, colliding with the Blood Sun Saber.

A tremendous recoil traveled through his twin axes. One slash tore open his chest, exposing the organs within, blackish-red and horrifying.

"Damn it!"

The Old Goat Demon flew into a rage. If he had drawn his axes even a little slower just now, that bastard's blade would have pierced straight through his chest. Whether he lived or died would have been anyone's guess.

"To withstand the first form of my Blood Saber, you have every reason to be proud!"

Chu Jiang spoke calmly, and the Blood Sun Saber in his hand erupted once more.

"Slash!"

Chu Jiang's steps were ghostly. A wild gale carrying a blade edge that could destroy all things surged toward the Old Goat Demon in an instant, intending to suppress and kill him on the spot.

"Fuck!"

The Old Goat Demon was beside himself with rage. Weren't these the lines demons used when slaughtering Human Race martial artists? How had this brat stolen them?

"You're arrogant!"

The demonic markings between the Old Goat Demon's brows flashed wildly, his aura soaring without end. The axe in his hand carried the force of ten thousand jin as it smashed toward Chu Jiang's Blood Sun Saber.

"Mountain Breaking Axe!"

The other axe hacked domineeringly at Chu Jiang's abdomen.

What shocked him was that the axe seemed to have struck profound iron. It left only a faint white mark, failing even to cut through the outermost layer of skin.

"Are you even human?"

Chu Jiang ignored him. True qi gathered in his left palm, golden radiance flashing as he struck the Old Goat Demon's body heavily.

Bang!

The Old Goat Demon felt as though his entire body were about to explode. He flew back dozens of meters, smashing several courtyard walls into powder and spitting out a mouthful of essence blood.
