A ground-rank Black Shark Demon led over a dozen lesser demons out of the city, escorting several hundred members of the Human Race.
"Listen up, take this batch of Human Race blood food to the Divine Palace of Beishen on time. There must be no mistakes, understand?" the Black Shark Demon instructed a Sea Snake Demon.
"General Black Shark, when I'm handling it, what is there for you to worry about? How many times have I run this route already?" the Sea Snake Demon said with a fawning grin.
Demons eating people was unavoidable. The barbarians cooperated with the demons of Lake Beishen, yet naturally did not want the demons eating their own people. Thus, whenever war broke out, the barbarians abducted people from Great Chu's borders. "We're going to heaven. It's a wonderful place, without any pain..." A rough old man stroked the little boy's head, weariness flashing through his eyes.
