S-06, Olympus
The highest-tier Undead Realm, the Underworld, was ruled by Hades, the Netherworld King (High-tier).
Any lifeform that died in S-06 would, according to the World Rules, have its departed soul guided here to undergo transfer, judgment, assignment, reincarnation, and so on.
Naturally, such overwhelming affairs concerning the dead could not possibly be managed by the Netherworld King alone.
Thus, the entire Underworld had established multiple Throne Deities to oversee different matters.
Among them,
there was a special deity who did not need to remain on duty year-round, only serving as the outward image, combat power, and embodiment of death itself for the Underworld—the Death God.
To obtain this deity position, one not only had to pass Mount Olympus's "Summit Test,"
but also had to go to the Netherworld Temple and face Hades head-on.
Only individuals recognized by the Netherworld King and possessing a unique Death Ability could possibly obtain the special throne known as the Death God.
Since ancient times,
there had only been one youth in all of S-06 named Thanatos who had gained Hades's recognition and passed the Underworld's special trial, becoming a true god of death.
Over time, people gradually came to accept that the Underworld had only one Death God, an irreplaceable one.
However,
not long ago,
an announcement personally made by Hades echoed throughout Olympus from the depths of the underworld.
A purebred human from the Abyssal Demon World, Alex Edward de Franchik, would become the Underworld's representative of death and be crowned with the special throne of Death God.
He would become the second Death God recognized by both Olympus and the Underworld.
Having obtained the "throne" through legitimate means, Alex was far more stable than Malone when he returned to the Holy City,
but he still had many "things" to digest,
