Background

The body Jiang Qinghe inhabits belonged to a child found beside the Qing River outside Lin'an County by an old sailor surnamed Jiang. The sailor adopted and named him, raising him alongside his granddaughter, Jiang Ziyue. After the old sailor died, Ziyue became a maid at the Magistrate's Manor while Qinghe worked alone as a handyman at the Red Leaf Wine Shop. 1

A man from Earth transmigrated into Qinghe's body at eighteen. Initially resentful and disoriented, he resolved to enter Wanping Martial Academy rather than remain trapped in poverty. He saved toward its twenty-tael admission fee while enduring abuse from Qiu San, the wine shop's manager. 1
