Ch. 462Angel Warren

After Firebird’s death, Wang Bert recruited Warren Worthington to become a Super Hero and urged him to embrace his wings. Warren flew freely for the first time and declared himself Angel Warren, while Worthington threatened Wang Bert for interfering with his son.

  • Storm confirmed Firebird was dead, and Storm, Human Torch, and Iceman extinguished the neighborhood fire, though the homes had already burned down.
  • Wang Bert told Psylocke that he was seeking a mutant recruit, then met Warren Worthington and offered to train him as a Super Hero.
  • Worthington stormed into Wang Bert’s office, where Yuriko subdued him, and Wang Bert defended Warren’s right to leave home and accept his mutation.
  • Wang Bert sent Worthington ten thousand meters into the air, prompting Warren to spread his wings, leap from the window, and discover the joy of flying.
  • Warren rescued his falling father and declared that he would keep his wings and become a Super Hero, while Worthington insisted he was sick.
  • Warren agreed to sign with Wang Bert, and Worthington offered a billion dollars and threatened to bankrupt Wang Bert’s company if he did not give up his son.

Ch. 463Firefighter Hero, Translucent

Wang Bert punished Worthington for threatening Warren, then allowed the Cure Project to continue because mutants who wanted a cure needed it. At Mutant Academy, John agreed to become a Firefighter Hero while Bobby chose to stay and study, and Wang Bert assigned the invisible Translucent to monitor John for trouble.

  • Wang Bert used his Money Power to inflict recurring pain on Worthington, who vowed to develop the cure before seeking revenge.
  • William recruited Human Torch John to become a Firefighter Hero, while Bobby declined and decided to remain at the academy.
  • John left with William as his classmates cheered him, and the professor promised to keep watching over him.
  • Storm told the professor that Azazel was imprisoned in an Electric Prison, where Kurt planned to try to reform him.
  • Wang Bert predicted that John’s new role would provoke anti-mutant hostility and warned Psylocke to prepare for the fallout.
  • Wang Bert introduced Translucent and tasked him with recording John’s activities and alerting Wang Bert if anything went wrong.

Ch. 464Doomsday Church

Wang Bert prepared Angel Warren for his superhero debut while a Doomsday Church ritual transformed a grieving repairman and the cultists into demonic messengers plotting to destroy New York. A week later, Angel and firefighter hero John had both become successful, but John resented Warren’s greater fame and demanded to become a Super Police.

  • Translucent left to carry out Wang Bert’s mission, and Psylocke told Wang Bert that she had rejected the White Queen’s offer to join the Hellfire Club.
  • Wang Bert gave Psylocke Angel Warren’s documents and asked her to guide him as a new superhero who could improve mutants’ public image.
  • The Doomsday Church killed a repairman’s wife and son to provoke his hatred, and the Behind-the-Scenes Manipulator transformed him into Wrath while making the tattooed leader Greed.
  • Greed revived Wrath’s family as corpses and promised they could be truly resurrected if they devoured ten thousand souls; the two planned to free mutant prisoners and destroy New York.
  • Firefighter hero John became popular locally, while Angel Warren’s heroism, looks, and wealth made him a nationwide star who improved mutants’ image.
  • John grew resentful of Warren’s greater fame and demanded that William make him a Super Police immediately.

Ch. 465Awareness

John planned to become a Super Police by taking over firefighting duties, while Wade managed the growing mutant prison and learned that two groups were watching the Universe Recycling Plant. Wade and Juggernaut set out to confront the spies, and the metal-armed watcher decided to capture Wade and trade him for Fire Fist.

  • William told John that negotiations with Fire Companies could help make him a Super Police, and John agreed to the plan to replace firefighters.
  • Wade stopped Fire Fist's escape attempt and offered to help expose the Priests who had persecuted him, with Psylocke's assistance.
  • Doppelganger said he expected BOSS to release him because his new income and job prospects meant he would no longer commit crimes, and he offered the guards pizza.
  • A clairvoyant prisoner revealed that two groups were watching the plant, so Wade arranged for Juggernaut to approach the larger group while he went after the lone watcher.
  • The metal-armed watcher spotted Wade approaching and decided to capture him as a bargaining chip for Fire Fist.

Ch. 466Capture

Wade’s guards captured Cable, who escaped after a fight, while Juggernaut’s team clashed with fanatical Cloaked Men and failed to stop their leader from fleeing. In Manhattan, Wang Bert responded to protests over Human Torch’s replacement of firefighters by planning to offer them jobs at Rebirth Group.

  • The Tunneling Guard trapped Cable, but Cable’s warning that Fire Fist would become a great demon led Wade to question him before Cable fought the guards and escaped by motorcycle.
  • Wade ordered his guards to pursue Cable and have Clairvoyant track him, while he hoped Juggernaut would succeed against the Cloaked Men.
  • Juggernaut and the guards fought the Cloaked Men, whose Captain used the Greed Eye to attack Juggernaut before the group escaped in a jeep.
  • Juggernaut tore the Greed Eye from his face, but a Cloaked Man ignited leaking fuel and the jeep exploded; Vine York reported the failed operation to Wade.
  • Wang Bert watched firefighters protest Human Torch’s comments and asked Yuriko to have Human Resources offer the displaced firefighters jobs at Rebirth Group.

Ch. 467The Offensive Begins

Wang Bert prepared the Recycling Plant for an expected attack while Greed and Cable separately planned to strike it in three days. As the X-Men gathered at the plant, Greed’s followers seized a high-profile luncheon at the Hilton Hotel to lure Iron Man and Psylocke away.

  • Wang Bert gave Wade a tiny Modified Deadpool to transform with and arranged to buy weapons to fortify the Recycling Plant.
  • Greed recruited Cable for a joint attack, then ordered his followers to kidnap Hilton Hotel guests and draw Iron Man and Psylocke away from the plant.
  • Wang Bert told Jean and Cyclops that Cable was their future son, and Jean worried that he had suffered greatly while Wolverine considered using Cable’s time machine to bring Silver Fox back.
  • Clairvoyant warned Wang Bert that attackers were hiding near the Recycling Plant, so Wang Bert told everyone to prepare.
  • Greed’s followers took over the Hilton Hotel luncheon, killed the security guards, and trapped the guests inside.

Ch. 468Stalling

A waiter linked to the Behind-the-Scenes Manipulator held wealthy guests hostage to keep Wang Bert occupied while Greed and Wrath attacked the Recycling Plant. Wang Bert remained at the Hilton Hotel as Wade and the defenders prepared to repel the attackers, whose vehicles failed to break through the reinforced walls.

  • The waiter killed two hostages and used the Devil Mark to control the remaining guests and his mercenaries, then demanded that Wang Bert surrender his life.
  • Wang Bert recognized the waiter's connection to the Behind-the-Scenes Manipulator and deliberately held the standoff to draw out the enemy's plans.
  • The Director ordered police to search for accomplices and told Psylocke to stay hidden nearby while Wang Bert remained at the hotel.
  • Greed and Wrath led a convoy toward the Recycling Plant, where Wade's team discovered their communications had been jammed and prepared to defend the site.
  • Wade ordered the defenders to fire rockets at the approaching Jeeps, but Greed's demonic energy diverted the rockets and the reinforced gate and walls withstood the crashes.

Ch. 469Wrath

The Recycling Plant's defenders fought Greed's believers as Wrath battered the mutants with overwhelming strength and regeneration. Wade destroyed Greed's illusion eye and battled him, but Greed trapped Wade in a Space Cage.

  • Wade and the guards opened fire on the believers while Wrath smashed through the gate and defeated Juggernaut before a tank blast knocked him down.
  • Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Juggernaut, Tunneling Guard, and Vomiting Boy coordinated attacks against Wrath, while Cable shot Storm and told Jean he intended to kill Fire Fist.
  • Greed used his illusion eye to distract the guards, but Wade transformed into bald Deadpool and destroyed the eye, restoring their senses.
  • Doppelganger made a hundred armed duplicates to attack the believers, and Cable put away his sniper rifle and headed toward the Recycling Plant to target Doppelganger and Fire Fist.
  • Wade fought Greed with his swords, but Greed's eyes blocked Wade's teleportation and attacks before Greed trapped him inside a Space Cage.

Ch. 470Trial

Wang Bert tested which mutants would protect Doppelganger while Cable and Greed attacked the prison and Frontlines. Fire Fist returned to save Wade from Greed’s shrinking Space Cage, and Wang Bert blessed Wade as the two faced Greed together.

  • Greed trapped Wade in a shrinking Space Cage and used a hypnotic eyeball to weaken the guards while Cable urged the prisoners to kill Fire Fist and Doppelganger.
  • Viper led prisoners against Man Bull and his supporters, who refused to help the escape attempt, while Oyama Yuriko and Jean fought Cable.
  • Wang Bert revealed that Cable wanted to kill Fire Fist because Fire Fist would burn Cable’s daughter to death in the future, then sent Fire Fist to the Frontlines.
  • Fire Fist initially left Wade to face Greed, but turned back when he realized Wade might die in the Space Cage.
  • Wang Bert blessed Wade, and Greed absorbed Fire Fist’s flames before launching them back at him; Wade appeared and vanished with Fire Fist just before the fireballs struck.

Ch. 471Taking Action

Wade and Wang Bert fought Greed as he merged with Wrath and overwhelmed the defenders. Wang Bert returned to the battle, stopped Greed from escaping, and swallowed him in two black holes.

  • Wade teleported past Greed’s spatial seals, resisted the Puppet Eye, and repeatedly cut Greed down while Fire Fist went to help the others.
  • Cable realized the future had changed after Fire Fist returned to save Wade, and Wang Bert arrived and recruited Cable to fight alongside them.
  • Wang Bert ordered the rebellious prisoners to kneel, promised freedom under surveillance to the loyal mutants, and led his allies toward the entrance.
  • Greed merged with Wrath, turned Wolverine and Juggernaut into puppets, and drove the defenders close to defeat.
  • Wang Bert returned to the battlefield, ignored Greed’s hypnotic attacks and spatial lockdown, and used two black holes to swallow Greed’s head and body.

Ch. 472Original Sin

Wang Bert defeated Greed’s attack on the Recycling Plant, learned that the entity called Original Sin had emerged from God’s sealed Original Sin, and stopped a hostage massacre at the Hilton Hotel. Greed escaped, but Wang Bert secured the site, protected the injured, and prepared to conceal the Doomsday Church’s existence.

  • Greed linked his life to the Adamantium armor, but Wang Bert revealed it was empty; Original Sin then pulled Wang Bert’s consciousness into Hell and explained how it had been born from God’s sealed Original Sin.
  • Wang Bert refused Original Sin’s offer to let him aid humanity’s destruction, asked about the Scarlet Witch, and was sent back to find Greed had escaped as Black Qi.
  • Wang Bert ordered Wade and the others to deal with the fleeing believers, restored Wolverine and Juggernaut by removing the eyes controlling them, and told Cyclops that Cable was his son but not Jean’s.
  • At the Hilton Hotel, Greed ordered the waiter to kill the guests, but Wang Bert incapacitated the waiter and kidnappers without harming anyone, then took Officer George to the Recycling Plant.
  • Wang Bert explained that the Doomsday Church had attacked the plant to free mutant prisoners, asked Officer George to suppress news of the group, and promised to sponsor the Life Mutant’s medical studies.
  • Wang Bert sent the injured to a Rebirth Group hospital and promised additional pay and compensation to those who fought.

Ch. 473Aftermath

After defeating the Recycling Plant forces, Wang Bert arranged to repair Cable’s time machine so he could save Wolverine’s wife without changing history, and began plans to suppress and study mutant powers. Greed then revealed the Doomsday Church to the public and threatened New York, leaving Psylocke asking Wang Bert whether God truly existed.

  • Wang Bert asked Cable for his time machine to save Silver Fox, and Cable agreed after Wang Bert promised to repair it and supervise the trip.
  • Wang Bert ordered Viper to be tested for seven days before funding her research into a poison that could suppress mutant abilities.
  • Wang Bert teleported the rebellious prisoners to a laboratory beneath his manor and froze them for mutant-gene research.
  • Greed escaped to Boston, massacred a television station’s staff, and broadcast the Doomsday Church’s beliefs and his threat to destroy New York.
  • Wang Bert told Psylocke that Greed and Wrath were the manipulator’s limit for now, and Psylocke asked whether God existed.

Ch. 474White Queen

Wang Bert refused the White Queen’s offer to join the Hellfire Club and recruited her to Rebirth Group by promising to resurrect her sister, Silver Fox. The White Queen agreed to resign from the Hellfire Club and return the next day, while Wang Bert gave her a bracelet that could teleport her to him.

  • Wang Bert discussed the effects of the Evil Believers crisis with Psylocke and Yuriko, then asked Yuriko to oversee Rebirth Group while he worked on the Time-Space Watch.
  • The White Queen visited Wang Bert, asked to buy Logan’s life over her sister’s death, and tried to read his mind, but his power frightened her off.
  • The White Queen invited Wang Bert to join the Hellfire Club, but he refused and asked her to work for Rebirth Group instead.
  • Wang Bert told the White Queen he planned to resurrect Silver Fox in four days, and she agreed to join him if he could make it happen.
  • The White Queen accepted a job at Rebirth Group, said she would resign to the Black King and return the next day, and took Wang Bert’s Space Bracelet.

Ch. 475Traversing Time and Space

White Queen left the Hellfire Club and joined Wang Bert, who used Cable’s modified Time-Space Watch to travel to the past and save Silver Fox. When Cable and Wang Bert tried to return to the future, a scarlet wall blocked the way, and Wanda told Wang Bert to become the Mutant God before he could reach her.

  • White Queen resigned from the Hellfire Club, used the Backdoors she had planted in its members to secure her departure, and left with her money after Black King threatened Wang Bert.
  • Wang Bert, White Queen, Wolverine, and Cable traveled to the past, where Wang Bert healed Silver Fox after she spared Stryker and then helped return her to the present.
  • Wolverine carried Silver Fox to the Medical Room, while Cable attempted to return to the future but was stopped by an unknown barrier.
  • Wang Bert entered the time-space passage and found a scarlet wall; Wanda told him to become the Mutant God, then the passage forced him back to the present.
  • Wang Bert explained that the future was sealed but the past remained accessible, and he offered Cable an extra hundred years of life so he could stay in the present.

Ch. 476Human Torch Causes Trouble

Wang Bert dealt with Wolverine and Silver Fox’s reunion while Hank struggled to get approval for the Mutant Guardians. Human Torch John’s drunken clash with former firefighters became a suspected setup, and Wang Bert left Translucent to trace the person recording it.

  • Silver Fox recovered enough to see Wolverine, and White Queen vowed to separate them despite their deep affection.
  • Hank told Wang Bert that the president had rejected his Mutant Guardians proposal, and Wang Bert explained that approval was unlikely before Acton took office.
  • Translucent watched Human Torch John boast in a bar before former firefighters confronted him over their lost jobs and Bertha.
  • John attacked the firefighters with fire, but Wang Bert appeared, knocked him out, and extinguished the flames with seawater.
  • Translucent alerted Wang Bert that someone had secretly recorded the confrontation, and Wang Bert ordered him to follow the suspected agent while planning to use the incident.

Ch. 477Making Mutants

Wang Bert refused to shield Human Torch John from the consequences of his attack on firefighters and urged the authorities and Mutant Affairs Department to act legally. Translucent uncovered a plot by Francis and a military general to manufacture mutants and turn public opinion against them, while the chapter ended with reporters questioning Wang Bert about John.

  • Wang Bert told Officer George to arrest Human Torch John, investigate the spiked alcohol, and handle the case impartially, while he arranged media coverage focused on himself.
  • Officer George denied William's request to bail John out, and Wang Bert told Hank and the Professor not to use their authority to protect John outside legitimate legal channels.
  • The Professor instructed Jean to keep the X-Men and students from acting impulsively, while Hank agreed to help John through proper means.
  • Translucent followed the cameraman to Francis and overheard Francis and a general discussing their plan to smear mutants and manufacture more mutants as weapons against Wang Bert.
  • Wang Bert recognized Francis, ordered Translucent to monitor him, and planned to dismantle Francis's organization rather than attack him immediately.
  • After the media spread news of John's actions, reporters questioned Wang Bert, who compared John's fire-wielding ability to a firearm and called the incident an ordinary bar fight.

Ch. 478Demanding Power

Bert Wang used the Human Torch controversy to seek greater authority over Super Heroes, while John’s hatred led him to accept an offer from the Mutant Brotherhood. As the Doomsday Church prepared a coordinated attack and Magneto welcomed John into the Brotherhood, Quicksilver mocked the decision.

  • Bert Wang urged the government to coordinate the fight against Evil Believers, and the president planned to make him chairman of a Super Hero Review Committee and pursue nationwide law-enforcement authority for him.
  • The public accepted the review committee, but New Yorkers argued online against Iron Man protecting other states.
  • John blamed Iron Man, Hank, William, Iceman, and his former fans for abandoning him, then agreed to join the Mutant Brotherhood when Insect Controller promised to rescue him.
  • Greed contacted John about destroying the world, then told Wrath that the Brotherhood and X-Men would be occupied in a major battle, giving the Doomsday Church a chance to attack America, Great Canada, and Mexico.
  • Magneto heard Insect Controller’s report and told Quicksilver that John had decided to join the Brotherhood; Quicksilver mocked the decision.

Ch. 479Take Action

Magneto planned a Brotherhood operation to rescue Human Torch and capture Yukio, while the Professor prepared the X-Men to stop the rescue. At the Manhattan precinct, Astra’s bomb threat triggered a fight, and the Professor’s intervention left Quicksilver unable to control which way he ran.

  • Magneto argued with Quicksilver over Human Torch joining the Brotherhood, then ordered Quicksilver to help Astra rescue him and sent Toad to capture Yukio in exchange for Azazel.
  • The Professor told the X-Men that the Brotherhood planned to free Human Torch and assigned Storm and Cyclops to lead the response, with Wolverine joining them.
  • Officer George’s police force and the X-Men met Astra and Sabretooth outside the precinct, where Quicksilver revealed himself and Astra threatened to detonate thirty bombs.
  • After Officer George agreed to release Human Torch, Nightcrawler snatched Astra’s remote, but Quicksilver tried to take it back and the Professor used his powers to stop him.
  • Storm sent Nightcrawler to take the remote to the Academy, while Sabretooth and Wolverine began fighting; Quicksilver then found himself running backward against his intentions.

Ch. 480Shadow

The Professor controlled Quicksilver while the Brotherhood fought the X-Men at the police station, and Mutant Shadow helped free Human Torch as Toad abducted Yukio. Elsewhere, Doomsday Master’s Evil Believers began massacring civilians across North America, prompting Wang Bert to respond as reports reached New York.

  • The Professor revealed that he had controlled Quicksilver all along and invited him to join the Mutant Academy while the Brotherhood and X-Men fought at the police station.
  • Mutant Shadow infiltrated the station, and Toad abducted Yukio from an airport departure lounge.
  • Human Torch used a lighter to escape his cell, attacked the officers, and resisted Nightcrawler’s attempt to take him away as the police station caught fire.
  • Wrath and Greed led Doomsday Master’s believers in massacres across dozens of locations, and a paralyzed believer regained the ability to walk after killing civilians.
  • Hank and the Police Chief told Wang Bert that Evil Believers were attacking across America, and Wang Bert set out to respond to reports from New York State.

Ch. 481Rescue

Wang Bert and his allies raced to rescue civilians from the Evil Believers’ nationwide attacks, while the X-Men finally broke away from Human Torch and joined the response. The military’s assault on the believers began confidently but ended in a sudden ambush that left its soldiers reeling.

  • Wang Bert sent Psylocke and Warren to fight the Evil Believers in separate counties, then rescued civilians in Bloom County and learned that the military was deploying forces across the country.
  • Wang Bert assembled Wade and the Security Team, dispatched them to five battlefields, and evacuated everyone from a runaway train before it plunged off a cliff.
  • Quicksilver knocked Human Torch unconscious, allowing Astra’s group to withdraw, while Sabretooth reluctantly left his fight with Wolverine.
  • Storm and her allies regrouped at the Mutant Affairs Management Department, split into teams, and set out to rescue people as Nightcrawler transported them.
  • A lieutenant colonel and other officers praised the military’s success against the Evil Believers, but the believers staged a surprise attack that destroyed an armored vehicle and inflicted heavy casualties on the soldiers.
