The Dry Biscuit tasted awful, and it was hard as a rock.

But it was filling. Lu Xun had already been starving, so no matter how terrible it tasted, he forced himself to finish it.

The breeze was faint, yet chilling.

It gave him a very familiar feeling.

He had created who knew how many alternate accounts and spent years roaming around the various Novice Villages. So, he knew exactly where this wind came from, and he knew exactly what would happen next.

He brought his mouth close to Ji Li's ear and whispered, "Hold your breath. Don't breathe."

Ji Li's ear tickled, and her little head instinctively shifted away. She turned to look at Lu Xun in confusion, but he answered with a resolute gaze... one that was somewhat captivating.

In a daze, Ji Li obediently did as he said. Holding her breath for a while would not kill her, after all.

Yet moments later, she witnessed a horrifying scene!

A faint cloud of Black Mist slowly drifted toward them. Within the Black Mist was a translucent humanoid Phantom.

This thing, whatever it was, looked rather goofy, roughly like this: ╭(°A°`)╮

Its eye sockets were hollow, with only black vapor swirling within them.

Ji Li broke out in a cold sweat. Her eyes widened as she watched the Phantom drift toward a nearby area.

Naturally, it was heading toward where the footsteps and voices had come from.

Before long, a series of sounds rang out.

There were the sounds of blades, spears, and clubs, along with screams, roars, and... the sound of human bodies falling.

Lu Xun narrowed his eyes slightly. Looks like I'm pretty lucky. I actually ran into a moving Experience Points pack.

Once the battle over there ended, he would go deal with that Phantom and see whether he could gain Experience Points.

After all, this was no longer a game. He had truly transmigrated. Although his status panel had an experience bar, who knew whether killing monsters would actually grant experience?

With her strength, she couldn't have killed the people pursuing her, but this Phantom had done it with ease!

"Whooo—" Another gust of chilling wind swept over. It seemed that it had finished off those people and had resumed its aimless wandering—only to circle back here.

Now that those people were dead, Lu Xun no longer needed to lurk in the bushes like some shady ambusher.

He leisurely got to his feet and walked toward Clueless Blackie, only for Ji Li to grab him.

He smiled, raised his left hand, and gently patted the back of Ji Li's small hand as he reassured her softly, "Don't be afraid. It's just a ghost."

Ji Li shuddered all over, so frightened that she wanted to cry even more.
