Becoming a Necromancer

Squeak, squeak, squeak!

At the faint sound, the half-asleep Gu Xi opened his eyes.

Squeezing the pebble in his hand, Gu Xi looked into the darkness of the cell, where a scrawny rat was poking its head out.

Several pieces of crushed black bread lay scattered along the rat's path.

The other man had a better grasp of priorities. Seeing his companion like this, he hurriedly grabbed hold of him.

Gu Xi ignored those words entirely. By then, nine identical Soul Shards had appeared in his hand.

This was the result of his efforts to save himself over this period.

Gu Xi was a player from a world that made its living through games. Having only just graduated, he had yet to complete his job advancement, so he was still a rookie.

However, he had chosen his advancement path back in university: Necromancer.

He had entered this game precisely to complete his Job Assignment.

What mattered was becoming a Necromancer and gaining access to the Necromancer's various skills.

It was impossible to tell which was the soul and which was the true body.

When the Little Girl moved, she floated around ten centimeters above the ground.

Floating before Gu Xi, the Little Girl opened her mouth.

"Big Brother, did you call me out?"

Her voice was like water dripping onto ice, filling the air with an extreme chill.

The moment her voice rang out, not only did the two men outside freeze stiff, but even Gu Xi, who had summoned her, felt every hair on his body stand on end.

Gu Xi tried hard to recall the knowledge he had learned in class. He forced his head up and stared into the girl's empty eyes. Before he could speak, she opened her mouth again.

"Big Brother, did you call me out?"

This time, the chill in her voice was clearly far stronger.
