The undead who came over was a Skeleton Mage, carrying a short staff and wearing a robe so tattered that only strips of cloth remained.

Undead at this level were generally used as reserve troops.
Normally, they would stay in the city, completing Conquest Missions at the Barracks, patrolling the city, or leaving the city to clear out Ghoul Shadows and Abominations beyond the walls.
Only after reaching Level 7 would they be selected by Gu Xi's Tool Man Heroes and assigned to various units.
At most, this undead would be transferred away by Yong Dou and become a member of the Demon Offering Camp.
Other than that, Gu Xi could not see anything unusual about him.
