Gu Xi's plan ultimately failed to materialize.
The Evil Coffin traveled forward for a little over an hour. At its current speed, it had covered roughly sixty to seventy kilometers without incident when Gu Xi received a message from the Nether Spirit Flower.
The Undead Laborer he had left behind as a marker had died.
Gu Xi found this both unexpected and unsurprising.

Gu Xi's question was quite direct.
The Undead Laborer shook his head. He truly did not know how he had died.

The white candle in the Undead Laborer's hand could not possibly have burned out.
That made his death extremely abrupt.
Yet the Undead Laborer's response left Gu Xi rather speechless.
Could this guy really have died so easily? He should at least have struggled a little, at the very least seen how he had been ambushed.
Just as Gu Xi was at a loss over the situation before him, his gaze sharpened, and he turned toward the direction from which he had come.
He could sense that the Nether Spirit Flower he had left behind had also been erased.
That was even more wrong.
