The bones clutched by the Skeleton Soldiers still tried to gather toward the center, but as the Skeleton Soldiers ran faster and faster, the bones struggled less and less.
Having lost so many bones, the Bone Dragon could not find enough bones to reassemble itself even if it wanted to.
This also exposed all the Negative Energy nodes used for the Bone Dragon's reassembly before Gu Xi and the others.
Gu Xi, Luna, and Shaya swiftly attacked those nodes.
Without the Bone Dragon's iron-hard bones protecting them, those nodes were really just clumps of Negative Energy trying to gather together.
Whether it was Gu Xi or Luna and Shaya, any of them could easily destroy such a node.
To make sure the nodes were truly destroyed, Gu Xi even threw Flying Daggers at them.
However, Gu Xi soon discovered that every time a node was destroyed, its Negative Energy gathered into the remaining intact nodes. As the number of nodes dwindled, the Negative Energy grew stronger, and some of the later nodes actually possessed vitality beyond normal levels.
Even the combined attacks of the three of them could not directly destroy the final few nodes.
At the same time, the Skeleton Soldiers carrying off the Bone Dragon's bones were beginning to have trouble suppressing them.
It was clear that if the Skeleton Soldiers loosened their grip, the bones would fly back on their own and reassemble into a Bone Dragon. Then all of Gu Xi's efforts would have been wasted.
