After freeing the trapped players, Gu Xi received their items, knowledge, and corpses, then reached a wooden door at the end of the stairs. A voice from inside asked whether he had come for the Thorns Golden Crown.

After surviving the Thorns Golden Crown trial, Gu Xi learned that he had advanced to the hidden career Death Sorcerer Lord and discovered how his Mysterious Academy clone worked. He chose the Dual Death talent, which would automatically turn slain enemies into undead within Aryadovi City.

• Gu Xi woke outside Princess's Forest of Thorns and learned that wearing the Thorns Golden Crown had advanced him to Death Sorcerer Lord, with a 320% completion rate.
• A Mysterious Academy Bodybuilding Technique clone had replenished Gu Xi's stamina and saved him from being drained dry.

• Alexander introduced himself as a Charging Knight and explained that he was managing the camp alongside Su Chun and Li Dangna.

• Fang Kang released golems from his layered toolbox to search the surrounding space while Gu Xi and the other players waited and explored.

The locusts began slaughtering the enemies, but Gu Xi discovered there were nearly two thousand Evil Ghouls, and the survivors would fuse into a gigantic BOSS after a thousand died.

• Gu Xi ordered Skeleton Mages to slow the Evil Ghouls and attack them with lightning while he prepared Undead Tendrils.
• Gu Xi noticed that each Evil Ghoul killed strengthened the others and considered using the Steel City Gate and Earthbound Weird Dragon if a BOSS appeared.

Shaya then reported that the Death Edict had transformed a group of Evil Ghouls into unusual new undead, and Gu Xi prepared to inspect them.
