Gu Xi killed the Tiger King of the Mountain, subdued its Chang Ghost followers, and learned the history of Reincarnation Mountain from three of them. The hunter’s ghost escaped southeast, and Gu Xi sent Gargoyles after it while the mountain’s buried threat remained unexplained.

• The Earthbound Weird Dragon, Nether Soul Dragon, and Bone Titan killed the Tiger King of the Mountain, and the hunter died as a ghostly figure fled his body toward the southeast.
• Gu Xi sent Gargoyles to pursue the escaped ghost, then accepted the surrender of 317 Chang Ghosts.
• Gu Xi ordered several Chang Ghosts to skin the tiger and asked others to explain the mountain and the attackers.

The Temple Keeper began explaining King Chariot’s history, including the discovery that he had secretly raised an army of five hundred thousand cavalry.

• Shaya questioned the Old Temple Keeper and helped Gu Xi learn that the tiger had been digging beneath the valley for buried goods while preserving the suppressive formation.
• Gu Xi learned that the village chief and Du Shusheng had both been eaten by the tiger and were now free to seek his favor.
• Gu Xi asked whether the Mountain God Temple could become his territory, then declared that he wanted its resources rather than the divine position himself.
• Du Shusheng and Wang Lizheng offered to become the next Mountain Deity and provide Gu Xi with resources, while the Temple Keeper waited to prove his usefulness.

After learning the history of King Chariot’s defeat, Gu Xi took half his Undead Army toward the Mountain God Temple while Shaya guarded the suppression formation. At the temple, Gu Xi found a forest littered with the tiger’s discarded corpses and began summoning from atop his Summoning Tower.

• The Temple Keeper told Gu Xi how King Chariot’s vast army had been destroyed and how the Wen Shan Path sects had gained control of the region.
• Gu Xi ordered the Temple Keeper to put the Skeleton Soldiers to work digging for ore, then assigned Shaya to guard the valley and wait if the suppression formation fell.
• Gu Xi rode away on the Evil Coffin with half his Undead Army to reach the Mountain God Temple and recover the Hunter’s escaped soul.
• The Gargoyles guided Gu Xi through the mountains to the undefended temple, where the surrounding forest smelled foul despite its picturesque appearance.
• Gu Xi found dried corpses scattered throughout the forest, deployed his Summoning Tower, and began summoning without entering the temple grounds.

Gu Xi cleared the Mountain God Temple of its lingering Yin Energy and discovered an entrance to the former Mountain Deity’s divine domain. He chose to occupy it, leaving the domain’s fate in his hands.

• Gu Xi used the Summoning Tower to raise corpses around the Mountain God Temple, then ordered Death Avatar-Death God to take the incomplete undead to Aryadovi City to become Doom Bones.
• Death Avatar-Bone Dragon broke through the temple’s black smoke and absorbed most of the Yin Energy released across the mountain.

• Wang Lizheng showed Gu Xi weapons he had excavated, but Gu Xi dismissed his work and turned to Du Shusheng and the Temple Keeper.
• Du Shusheng presented horse and cavalry armor and weapons, while the Temple Keeper led Gu Xi to a vermilion boulder and asked him not to endanger nearby people.
• Gu Xi appointed Du Shusheng, who took the name Du Yuan, as an adviser and ordered him to gather all Blood Sacrifice soil and send it to the Mountain God Temple.

After the Ghost Soldiers returned from gathering their fallen comrades, Gu Xi stopped them and told them they were free, leaving them testing whether the suppression formation was truly gone.

• Gu Xi learned from Wu Liu that the valley's battle formation had trapped newly dead Ghost Soldiers underground, then had his men remove the first Pure Yang Formation Stone.
• Wu Liu found the other two formation stones, and as they were removed, a storm broke and the Ghost Soldiers emerged from underground.
• The Ghost Soldiers gathered fallen comrades from the battlefield while Gu Xi watched, and tens of thousands of White Impermanences continued working nearby without interacting with them.
• After about three hours, more than four thousand mounted Ghost Soldiers and around fourteen thousand infantry and support troops turned back toward the valley with the rain still falling.

Gu Xi freed the Ghost Soldiers and accepted the weaker survivors into his city while the others set out to search for their fallen comrades. Marching Commandant Li Dayou gave Gu Xi General Zhou Shikun’s sword, Vanguard Power - Shattered Formation, and Gu Xi was then offered the remaining Ghost Soldiers’ surrender.

• The Ghost Soldiers returned after the rain stopped, knelt before Gu Xi, and thanked him for freeing them.
• Li Dayou explained that the strongest Ghost Soldiers would search for their fallen comrades, while about thirteen to fourteen hundred cavalry and over three thousand infantry and auxiliary soldiers would join Gu Xi.

• Wu Liu told Gu Xi that a miniature Spirit Vein produced about thirty spirit stones yearly, while the former Mountain Deity and the tiger had gathered other resources in different ways.

Gu Xi used a level-up to escape the tree’s life-draining effect, chose Chain Corpse Explosion and Death Sorcerer Summoning, and launched a coordinated attack with his summoned Death Wizards and Death Avatars. The assault exposed the tree’s vital root, and Gu Xi dropped the Summoning Tower onto it to plug the gushing blood.

• Gu Xi recognized the ash urns in the tree and used Corpse Explosion Art on one, causing a floating figure to fall.
• As the tree drained his life faster, Gu Xi cast Death Avatar and leveled up, restoring his life and clearing his negative status.

The chapter ended with black Ghosts emerging from the pond and politely asking why the passage to Yellow Springs had been closed for three hundred years.

• Death Avatar-Death God and Death Avatar-Bone Dragon drained the life from Ghost Village Shrine Tree - Ghost Clapper, killing it and opening the blocked Yellow Springs Road.

After discovering a task to investigate the blocked roads, Gu Xi asked about the Soul Gathering Ground and learned it served as a trading and smuggling hub for unofficial travelers entering the Underworld.

• Gu Xi summoned Li Liangquan, who introduced himself as a temporary Yellow Springs patrolman and explained that patrolmen had come to investigate the newly opened passageway.
• Li Liangquan said wandering-soul passageways in ghost villages, wild graves, and yin valleys had been abandoned, and identified Ghost Clapping Hands as a poplar tree.
• Gu Xi read a temporary task to investigate blocked Yellow Springs Roads and report his findings, with a warning that the roads were full of Abominations.
• Li Liangquan explained that wilderness passageways were refused entry to the Yellow Springs and advised Gu Xi to wait at the Soul Gathering Ground rather than attack the Ghost Gate Pass.
