Chapter Summaries

Gu Xi’s forces crushed a wave of Ghoul Shadows with Ice Storm, arrows, and Flame Storm, while Yong Dou tested a new Ritual Magic. Mana Distortion caused the Ghoul Shadows to merge into a giant beast, and Gu Xi’s forces scattered them before the chapter ended with Yong Dou considering an Anti-Magic Orb-like effect.

• Gu Xi ordered Yong Dou to unleash an enhanced Ice Storm on the Ghoul Shadows as Dali led the Skeleton Soldiers forward.
• Skeleton Archer Leaders fired on the slowed enemies, and Gu Xi used Flame Storm to destroy many of the wounded Ghoul Shadows.
• Yong Dou used Ritual Magic to enhance Mana Distortion, which made the remaining Ghoul Shadows explode and then reassemble into a giant beast.
• Gu Xi ordered Death Avatar-Titan and the Bone Titans to strike the creature with lightning, then sent locusts after the scattered Ghoul Shadows.

Gu Xi continued his campaign through Aryadovi City, assigning troops to clear and occupy districts while arranging reinforcements from the rear. After Mido found a hidden area and warned that its buildings might disappear, Gu Xi went to investigate and reached an entrance concealed through someone’s backyard.

• Gu Xi stopped Yong Dou from using an Anti-Magic Orb-like ritual and instead asked him to research a permanent Mana Distortion force field that would block enemy spells without disabling his own magic.
• The locusts killed the remaining Ghoul Shadows, and Gu Xi led his army onward, ordering Lewis to occupy districts and Dali to guard the City Gate at Aryadovi City’s western edge.
• Gu Xi sent an owl to request undead reinforcements from the rear, then continued toward the next district.
• Mido arrived with a map of a hidden area and warned Gu Xi that its buildings might vanish if they waited until after capturing the city.

Gu Xi discovered the hidden Lettuce Duchy in Aryadovi City, where tiny Elves survived Ghoul Shadows beneath a purifying tree. He recruited them into his city after learning they could help plant his special saplings.

• Gu Xi entered the garden district and found a lettuce field that concealed a settlement beneath a massive tree absorbing black mist.
• Gibbon Lettuce Flower introduced himself as the king of the Lettuce Duchy and explained that the tree's purification protected the Elves from Ghoul Shadows.
• Gu Xi told Gibbon he had captured much of Aryadovi City and warned that his undead forces could endanger the Elves.
• Gibbon agreed to join Gu Xi's city but worried that the Elves were too weak to fight and asked whether undead needed food.
• Gu Xi learned that the Elves could plant trees and asked them to cultivate his special saplings, prompting Gibbon to boast that they had even planted World Trees.

Gu Xi accepted Jibbon’s little elves into his forces and sent them to inspect the Aryadovi District for suitable planting plots. He joined Kaja and Diegu’s advance, took responsibility for one of two routes ahead, and received a Dual-Headed Bone Dragon and other Undead Army units sent by Grand Princess Anna.

• Gu Xi accepted the little elves, learned that they needed three large, three medium, and three small standard camps, and sent Jibbon to scout the Aryadovi District for planting areas.
• Gu Xi inspected the Lettuce Duchy’s great tree, pond, and Stone Statue before heading through the South Side area toward Kaja and Diegu.
• Gu Xi mapped the connecting districts and saw how the expanding number of routes and the need to leave guards behind had slowed Kaja, Diegu, Robbie, and Arroyo.
• Gu Xi told Kaja and Diegu to take one of the two roads ahead while he handled the other, and Kaja agreed.
• A Dual-Headed Bone Dragon and a large group of Undead Army units arrived; Gu Xi recognized them as units sent by Grand Princess Anna, including the reward for killing the Two-Headed Ghoul Shadow Giant Dragon.

Gu Xi organized the undead forces that had joined the battle and used Mido’s map to assess Aryadovi City’s remaining districts. He left Mido to secure the occupied districts and denied Amirka’s request for the Skeleton Cavalry, intending to transform them into Pale Knights instead.

• Gu Xi counted the battle’s gains, welcomed the arriving undead forces, and assigned troops under Kaja and Diegu while ordering others to hold occupied districts.
• Gu Xi summoned Amirka and Mido, then asked Mido to map Aryadovi City’s districts and check for gaps in their defenses.
• Mido’s map showed that Gu Xi’s forces occupied sixteen of the city’s twenty-one districts, four districts were still under attack, and one had not yet seen battle.
• Gu Xi ordered Mido to take the newly arrived undead to secure the districts and prevent the enemy from retaking them.

Gu Xi reorganized Amirka’s cavalry, ordering him to replace the Crimson Knights with Netherblue Knights and form the Netherblue Knight Corps. Gu Xi and his allies finished clearing Aryadovi City, opening a passage to a new era.

• Gu Xi asked Amirka about cavalry compatibility, then ordered him to leave the Crimson Knights behind and lead the Netherblue Knights as the Netherblue Knight Corps.
• Amirka agreed to the one-time troop change and withdrew to handle the transition while Gu Xi continued toward the remaining districts.
• Gu Xi joined the fight against the final district’s Ghoul Shadows, where Kaja and Diegu arrived and helped clear the enemies.
• Kaja and Diegu chose to stay and fight alongside Gu Xi rather than travel to other districts where battles might already be over.

After Aryadovi City of the York Dynasty was captured, Gu Xi asked Luna and Jibbon to assess whether it could become the Demon Plant Zone. Concluding that the city was poorly suited to growing plants, Gu Xi chose to develop it as an Industrial or Market District and seek the Demon Plant Zone in Aryadovi City of the Normandy Dynasty.

• Gu Xi summoned Luna and Grand Princess Anna to take control of the captured Aryadovi City, though Anna remained occupied with Aryadovi Tower.
• Luna mapped the city into fifteen districts and asked Gu Xi whether he planned to move the Demon Plant Zone there.
• Jibbon reported that planting trees would require demolitions, irrigation, and spells to remove Abomination power from the soil.
• Luna warned that only a few areas could be converted into growing spaces, making the project a poor investment.
• Gu Xi decided Luna should arrange the York Dynasty city as an Industrial or Market District and that he would seek the Demon Plant Zone in Aryadovi City of the Normandy Dynasty.

Gu Xi moved Jibbon and the Elves out of Aryadovi City while Luna inspected the city. At Aryadovi Tower, he met Edward V and the Duke of York, whose returned bodies let them leave the Bloody Tower and regain strength.

• Gu Xi sent Jibbon and the Elves to his Demon Plant Zone and asked Luna to inspect Aryadovi City and arrange for its houses to be demolished.
• Jibbon gathered nearly two million Elves, including tiny Elves who lived in moss and could glow like street lamps.
• Gu Xi rode to Aryadovi Tower with Jibbon and found Grand Princess Anna speaking with Edward V and the Duke of York.
• Grand Princess Anna explained that the princes' uncle had killed them and buried them beneath stairs to seal their royal bloodline.
• After Gu Xi returned their body images, Edward V and the Duke of York left the Bloody Tower and began regaining strength.

Gu Xi met the two Princes, who promised to hide his actions from the Great Lord as he worked to take Aryadovi City. He brought Jibbon and the little Elves to the Demon Plant Zone and arranged for them to help relocate its trees and cultivate Grass Return Pill saplings.

• Grand Princess Anna explained that the two Princes were powerful reflections, and Gu Xi discovered that Death City had gained the Traditional City (Undead) trait.
• The two Princes told Gu Xi they could shield his actions from the Great Lord until he took all of Aryadovi City, but warned that some of the Great Lord’s subordinates might still discover him.
• Gu Xi left Aryadovi Tower with Jibbon and the little Elves, then traveled through the Dock Area and Evilwood Lake to reach the Demon Plant Zone.
• Gu Xi showed Jibbon the Grass Return Pill research, its formula, and a seed, and asked whether the Elves could plant five thousand saplings and help move the trees.
• Jibbon said the Elves could ensure the trees survived and produced thirty-six medicinally effective fruits each within three years, and offered their help with planting.

Gu Xi assigned Jibbon to care for the Demon Plant Zone and consider how to move it, then heard Eve’s proposal for improving his magical research capabilities. Eve wanted to raise, teach, and study corpses suited to becoming mages before turning them into undead, and Gu Xi was left considering her plan.

• Jibbon explained that transplanting the Demon Plant Zone’s saplings could reduce their yield, and Gu Xi asked whether later generations of saplings could be propagated.
• Gu Xi left Jibbon in charge of the trees and materials, then headed toward Aryadovi Tower while preparing for a possible counterattack.
• Eve showed Gu Xi research suggesting that corpses buried beneath libraries could produce more powerful Magic Units, and proposed using suitable corpses in the Magic District.

• Gu Xi told Eve that the Magic District had other functions to consider and that she should not focus only on Magic Unit combat troops.
• Shaya confirmed that saplings from the Agricultural University had arrived, and Gu Xi told her to investigate prices in Peixin City and find supplies and Building Blueprints.
• Gu Xi told Eve to stabilize Aryadovi City and prepare a detailed plan, since the next cities they captured were unlikely to go to the Magic District.

After the battle, Gu Xi reviewed Aryadovi City's losses and spoils with Grand Princess Anna, who warned that their shortage of Heroes made it difficult to manage the troops and garrison the city. They decided to visit Westminster Abbey to try to recruit new Heroes.

• Eve left to review records and prepare plans for the Magic District while Gu Xi returned to Aryadovi City.
• Grand Princess Anna reported that the army had lost more than 6,700 undead but gained nearly 40,000 usable undead, 276 Headmen, 1,267 warriors, and 51 Elites.
• Gu Xi learned that two of his battalions were at full strength, while Yong Dou's Demon Offering Camp could only accept Skeleton Mages.
• Grand Princess Anna pointed out that the army lacked Heroes, leaving Amirka and the other Heroes stretched thin and Aryadovi City without enough garrison commanders.

• Grand Princess Anna advised Gu Xi to complete the instance’s missions and clear it once in its usual progression before trying deeper battles on a later attempt.

Gu Xi re-entered the Westminster Abbey Incident dungeon at Level 8 with Grand Princess Anna and powerful undead allies. After presenting his title and military credentials, he gained the Grand Duke’s trust and heard about the situation at Westminster Abbey.

• Gu Xi activated the Westminster Abbey Incident dungeon and brought Grand Princess Anna, Blood Avatar Isabella, the Bone Titan, and the Nether Soul Dragon.
• At the Route 19 Bus Station, soldiers challenged Gu Xi, but he showed his battle banner and Ennoblement Order and waited for the Grand Duke.
• Gu Xi asked Grand Princess Anna about the dungeon’s External and Exclusive Tasks, and she guessed they required preparation in Victoria City or involved the Apple Tree.
• The Grand Duke noticed Gu Xi’s increased strength and powerful undead, then welcomed him as Baron Gu and began explaining Westminster Abbey’s situation.

Gu Xi accepted Grand Duke’s task to rescue civilians from Abomination cultists in the streets around Westminster Abbey and began deploying his undead forces. After sending Robbie and the Bonecleaver Battalion into the alleys, Gu Xi spotted a weak point in the enemy lines and prepared more troops to exploit the battle for experience and population.

• Grand Duke told Gu Xi that civilians were still trapped in streets and alleys, and Gu Xi accepted the task to rescue at least 20 of them.
• Grand Duke led Gu Xi to an open area near Westminster Abbey Square, where Gu Xi summoned the Steel City Gate and Summoning Tower.
• Gu Xi sent Robbie and the Bonecleaver Battalion into the nearby streets to kill cultists and rescue civilians.

• Gu Xi ordered Arroyo and the Black Spear Camp to attack, and the spearmen cut through the charging cultists in formation.
• The cultists tried to break the formation with leaping attacks and then flanked from both sides, but the spearmen defended against them.
• Gu Xi summoned the fallen cultists as Zombies and Liches, who blocked the flankers and attacked them with poison spells.

Gu Xi killed a cultist Hero and summoned him as the undead Hero Corrupted Sen, who transformed the camp’s Level 8 Zombies into Corrupted Zombies. Sen identified a weak point on the right side of Westminster Abbey’s main gate, and Gu Xi sent Arroyo and Sen’s force to attack it.

• The Bone Titan killed the Level 8 cultist controller with two lightning strikes.
• Gu Xi summoned the fallen Hero, and Corrupted Sen joined his team.
• Gu Xi assigned the ordinary Zombies at Black Spear Camp to Sen, who transformed them into Corrupted Zombies.
• Corrupted Sen identified the right side of Westminster Abbey’s main gate as the weakest point in the defensive line.
• Gu Xi ordered Arroyo to attack the right side, and Arroyo and Sen led their forces toward it, killing anyone who blocked their way.

Gu Xi’s undead army overwhelmed the cultists outside Westminster Abbey and exposed Doorkeeper Keisha, the level 9 BOSS controlling the gates. Angered by Keisha’s claim that he could open the gates of the Netherworld, Gu Xi summoned his Death Avatars and sent them toward the gate to demonstrate his own power.

• Gu Xi commanded the undead army as Corrupted Sen and Arroyo fought their way through the cultists outside Westminster Abbey.
• Gu Xi summoned newly slain cultists as undead, helping the two Heroes reach Doorkeeper Keisha at the right side of the gates.
• Doorkeeper Keisha opened the gate and summoned more cultists, then challenged Gu Xi’s forces by declaring that the gates of the Netherworld would open for them.
• Gu Xi asked Grand Princess Anna what Keisha had said and became irritated by his claim to represent the Netherworld.
• Gu Xi summoned Death Avatar-Bone Dragon, Death Avatar-Titan, and the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe Holder, sending them to the gates.
• The Yellow Springs Dragon Robe Holder landed before the gates as Gu Xi declared that he would show Keisha what a real gate to the Netherworld looked like.

Gu Xi’s forces transformed Doorkeeper Keisha’s gate into a Netherworld gate, while the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe Holder and Death Avatar-Titan entered it. Gu Xi’s army attacked Keisha, who retreated toward the gate to hide and recover.

• The Yellow Springs Dragon Robe Holder approached Doorkeeper Keisha’s gate as the Death Avatar-Bone Dragon killed the cultists who tried to attack him.
• The Yellow Springs Dragon Robe Holder transformed the gate into a Netherworld gate, and Keisha opened it wider without realizing the danger.
• Gu Xi sent the Bone Titan and Nether Soul Dragon into battle, but the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe Holder and Death Avatar-Titan entered through the gate.
• The Nether Soul Dragon tore off Keisha’s right arm, and the liches struck him with poison spells.
• Keisha retreated toward the gate, intending to hide inside until his Life Recovery restored him.

Doorkeeper Keisha was killed after rushing through the transformed gates of Westminster Abbey, and Gu Xi was asked by Grand Princess Anna to lead the vanguard in the next battle. Afterward, the living Grand Princess Anna explained her plan to recover the corpse of the Anna inside the instance.

• Doorkeeper Keisha charged through the doors, where Death Avatar-Titan and the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe Holder had turned them into a Gate of the Underworld, and died as his body corpse-ified.
• The instance announced Doorkeeper Keisha's death, and its doors turned gray white and shut, blocking the road into Westminster Abbey.
• Grand Princess Anna praised Gu Xi, promised rewards from the royal family, and asked him to lead the vanguard in the next battle.
• Gu Xi agreed, and Anna ordered the forces to advance their defensive lines to the doors of Westminster Abbey.
• Grand Princess Anna asked Gu Xi whether she had really been like the Anna in the instance, then explained how her poison and the instance's reset could help her recover that Anna's corpse.
