Ch. 163Cleaning Up the Battlefield and Upgrading the Evil Coffin

After the battle ended, Gu Xi sorted the spoils, strengthened the Evil Coffin, and equipped his stronger Skeleton Soldiers. The Evil Coffin began absorbing a Magic-Powered Heart, while Gu Xi counted his forces and prepared for future battles.

  • Gu Xi assigned weapons and equipment from the battlefield to Skeleton Soldiers above Level 3 and sorted other loot for Kane to inspect.
  • Gu Xi used Blood-Stained Wood and a Flesh Cushion to upgrade the Evil Coffin to Green +1, improving its speed and granting it a temporary burst of acceleration.
  • The Evil Coffin absorbed Gu Xi's Magic-Powered Heart and became surrounded by black mist as it began another upgrade.
  • Luna transported weapons and other spoils to Aryadovi City while the Skeletons cleaned the battlefield and carried loot to the Undead Scourge Magic Array.
  • New Skeletons joined Gu Xi's forces, bringing his count to 876 Skeleton Soldiers above Level 3 and 2,124 Skeletons below Level 3.

Ch. 164Reorganized Undead Army

Gu Xi reorganized his Skeleton Soldiers and discovered that the Undead Scourge Magic Array had raised many corpses from the battlefield, adding over fifteen hundred undead to his forces. As Luna assembled the new army, an enormous enemy force arrived, and Gu Xi ordered his troops to prepare for battle.

  • Luna reported that the equipment had arrived in Aryadovi while Gu Xi and the Skeleton Heads sorted 876 Skeleton Soldiers into formations.
  • Gargoyles reported changes outside the city, and Gu Xi saw that the Undead Scourge Magic Array had raised fallen bodies as Skeletons, Zombies, ghouls, and Ghosts.
  • Gu Xi ordered Luna to bring the newly raised undead into the city and send the reorganized troops out, gaining more than fifteen hundred soldiers.
  • Luna took control of the new level 0 undead and folded them into Gu Xi's army, arranging them as the front line ahead of the Skeletons and stronger troops.
  • A Gargoyle warned that a much larger enemy army was approaching, and Gu Xi summoned his Skeleton Warhorse and ordered his forces to prepare for battle.

Ch. 165The Battle Begins

Gu Xi led the undead into battle against the red-skinned corpses and used Soul Extraction and Summoning to replenish his forces. As Battle Squad 1 overwhelmed the enemy, an elite general charged toward Gu Xi, who prepared to confront him with Death Avatar.

  • Luna led the troops toward the red-skinned enemies after Gu Xi ordered the attack.
  • Gu Xi used Soul Extraction and Summoning on a fallen enemy, raising a Skeleton and confirming he could replenish his undead forces from the corpses.
  • Gu Xi restored Battle Squad 1 and reinforced Battle Squad 2 and the Bonecleaver Battalion while summoning undead behind the advancing army.
  • Battle Squad 1's Skeleton Head directed the spearmen in a formation that cut through the enemy and drew the red-skinned troops into a vortex of fighting.
  • The opposing elite general charged toward Gu Xi, who pointed his Cold Wind Staff at him and cast Death Avatar.

Ch. 166Summoning Brought Forth a New Head

The Death Avatar tore through the enemy formation, killing hundreds of troops and a Magician Head, while Gu Xi summoned the fallen elite general as a Skeleton Head. After discovering a clue-bearing piece of White Baboon Skin, Gu Xi faced a final charge from the remaining Red Skin Head and ordered his undead army to meet it.

  • The Death Avatar used Crystal Dust Storm to hurl the elite general aside, then charged through the enemy ranks and killed at least seven hundred enemies.
  • The Death Avatar swept up and killed the Magician Head, though Gu Xi missed the notification among the many kills.
  • Gu Xi used Summoning on the fallen elite general and obtained a powerful Skeleton Head, whom he assigned as the Bonecleaver Battalion’s second Head.
  • Gu Xi collected the damaged White Baboon Skin left behind and discovered that it might contain clues.
  • The remaining Red Skin Head ordered his troops to attack Gu Xi, who sent the Death Avatar into their ranks as his undead forces charged into battle.

Ch. 167War Breaks Out on All Fronts (41149)

Gu Xi supported his forces against the enemy while protecting the token at the City Gate. After hearing that other nodes had come under attack, he returned to the battlefield reassured and prepared for the prolonged defense.

  • Gu Xi cast White Bone Storm as his forces and the Death Avatar pressed the enemy, with the Bonecleaver Battalion charging toward enemy leaders.
  • An explosion and Defense Shield appeared above the Undead Scourge Magic Array, so Gu Xi rushed back to check the token.
  • Gu Xi found the token unharmed and saw that Luna had sent Ghosts and Skeleton Archers to support him.
  • Gu Xi sent the Skeleton Archer Leader and his troops back to the battle outside the array.
  • The Mage Leader warned that the first wave of attacks had begun and told the defenders to preserve corpses, conserve their forces, and hold their nodes for twenty-four hours.

Ch. 168Summoning Art Level 5

Gu Xi tested Summoning on the battlefield to replenish his losses, and raising the skill to Level 5 let him summon Zombies as well as Skeletons. He gained a Skeleton Magician Head, but decided the lone mage had no useful role in his forces for now.

  • Luna returned after defeating the Otherworldy Ghost Leader, reported heavy losses, and helped replenish the Skeletons through the Undead Scourge Ritual Magic Array.
  • Gu Xi sent Luna to clean up the battlefield, then rode out to use Soul Extraction and Summoning on the fiercest battle zones.
  • Gu Xi raised Summoning to Level 5, which gave him a chance to summon Zombies from intact, flesh-rich corpses.
  • Gu Xi inspected his newly summoned Zombies and recognized their greater combat strength compared with Skeletons of the same level.
  • Gu Xi examined the Skeleton Magician Head, whose Lightning Arrow and Squad Command skills could not make up for his lack of a suitable squad or other useful duties.

Ch. 169Spoils of the Battlefield

Gu Xi cleaned up the battlefield, gathering corpses for the Undead Scourge Magic Array and searching for valuable spoils. He sent useful equipment and supplies to the City Gate and kept a blue item that could strengthen his future moat.

  • Gu Xi ordered his undead to drag corpses into the Undead Scourge Magic Array, which transformed them into Zombies, Skeletons, or Ghosts and absorbed the remaining flesh.
  • Gu Xi found two White Baboon Skins and discovered that one Otherworldy Ghost Leader’s equipment had been lost when the leader became a Skeleton Magician Head.
  • Gu Xi gave the Blood Brain Hood to the Skeleton Head of Battle Squad 1, allowing the Long Spear Skeleton Soldiers’ squad to expand its command capacity.
  • Gu Xi found a Rotting Endless Food Basket and sent two Skeletons to carry it to the City Gate.
  • Gu Xi discovered blue Murderous Waterweed, realized it could trap enemies in his moat while the moat dealt damage, and tucked it into his pocket.
  • Gu Xi finished searching the battlefield, packed up the remaining gray junk and white materials, and sent them to the City Gate.

Ch. 170Organizing the Troops and Evil Coffin Evolution

Gu Xi reviewed the troops assembled after the battle and saw that the Evil Coffin had completed its evolution into a fast mount with storage and socket slots. He placed the Spliced Head inside the coffin, leaving its other new features ready for future use.

  • Gu Xi returned to the City Gate, where Luna had organized the troops and the corpses had completed their Summoning conversion.
  • Gu Xi counted his forces, including 1,404 Skeleton Soldiers, 226 Zombies, 28 Ghosts, 15 Gargoyles, and a 1,677-member mixed unit.
  • The black mist faded as the Evil Coffin completed its evolution into a Blue mount with high speed, a storage slot, and three socket slots.
  • Gu Xi inspected the evolved coffin and put the Spliced Head into one of its socket slots.

Ch. 171An Incident in Victoria City

After upgrading the Evil Coffin with the Spliced Head, Gu Xi rested while Luna organized the battlefield. When news arrived that Victoria City had grown chaotic and their building there had been noticed, Gu Xi sent Luna back to investigate and prepare Aryadovi City for a possible transition.

  • Gu Xi inlaid the Spliced Head into the Evil Coffin, granting it map-based Automatic Navigation, and discovered that the enlarged coffin was too slippery and wide to ride normally.
  • Gu Xi decided to spread his battle flag over the coffin as a makeshift seat, then said he would redesign the flag after returning to Aryadovi City.
  • Exhausted from battle and summoning, Gu Xi fell asleep on the Evil Coffin while Luna lowered it, kept the creature inside in check, and organized the undead.
  • A Ghost reported that Shaya had visited and left word that Victoria City was growing chaotic, their building there had been noticed, and Aryadovi City might soon undergo another transition.
  • Gu Xi sent Luna, the Ghosts, and the Skeleton Magician Head back to Aryadovi City to investigate while he stayed to guard the battlefield.

Ch. 172Victory Reward

After Luna returned to Aryadovi City, Gu Xi trained his undead while waiting for the next attack. A victory reward strengthened his forces, and a letter from the Mage Leader revealed that Gu Xi was guarding the invasion’s starting point as he prepared for the next battle.

  • Gu Xi read skill books while his undead commanders trained their troops and weapons outside the ritual magic array.
  • After the first wave was repelled, the Mage Leader ordered all players to raise their weapons, and lightning gave Gu Xi and his undead a temporary level boost.
  • The strengthened undead received weapons and equipment suited to Gu Xi’s arrangements, including long spears for the Zombies trained by Battle Squad 1's Skeleton Head.
  • The Mage Leader announced that the enemy would arrive in two hours and that three waves of battle remained.
  • A raven delivered the Mage Leader’s letter explaining that Gu Xi’s position was the invasion’s starting point and that he needed to keep holding it.
  • Gu Xi accepted that he could not leave his post and looked forward to the coming enemies.

Ch. 173The Mad Leader of the Others

Gu Xi waited for an attack at his crucial node, while a group of Otherworldy Ghost Leaders fifteen kilometers away struggled to manage their unstable clown commander. The Otherworldy Ghost Leaders finally began organizing an attack on another node, leaving the clown asleep.

  • Gu Xi waited three hours for an enemy attack that never came, despite attacks on other nodes, and sent Gargoyles farther out to scout.
  • A mad clown in a White Baboon Skin suit demanded that the Otherworldy Ghost Leaders attack Gu Xi's node instead of waiting.
  • The clown pressured a muscular Otherworldy Ghost Leader to attack, but the leader challenged him to go himself.
  • Several Otherworldy Ghost Leaders pinned the clown down and injected him with a blue potion, causing him to fall asleep.
  • The Otherworldy Ghost Leaders declined to seek another Chief-level commander and volunteered to lead the delayed attack on a different node.

Ch. 174Otherworld Ghost Army

Gu Xi prepared his undead forces to face an Otherworld Ghost Army of nearly ten thousand and discovered that its leaders included a weather caster and a Soul Thief. The Soul Thief’s attack wiped out the frontline zombies, while another enemy leader reached the City Gate Tower and targeted Gu Xi.

  • Gargoyles reported that nearly ten thousand enemies had arrived, and Gu Xi ordered his troops to form up near the Undead Scourge ritual array.
  • Gu Xi saw the army’s more than twenty Abomination races advancing in a disorganized mass and chose to meet them head-on.
  • A Cheongsam Woman used “Weather Change! Heavy Snowfall!” to cover the battlefield in snow and ice.
  • A ghost leader with an Ice Crystal Long Spear used the falling snow to leap past the frontline toward Gu Xi.
  • A ghost leader dragging a black coffin hurled it at the zombies, draining the souls from those it touched.
  • Gu Xi recognized the coffin wielder as a Soul Thief, but the Ice Crystal Spear wielder reached the City Gate Tower and charged at him.

Ch. 175Kill

Gu Xi’s undead killed the Otherworldly Ghost Leader who charged him, then overwhelmed the Soul Thief and the surrounding ghosts. The Cheongsam Woman sealed herself in an icebox, but the Death Avatar carried it into the air.

  • The Death Avatar blasted the charging Otherworldly Ghost Leader with Death Dragon Breath and killed him.
  • Gu Xi’s Skeleton Soldiers and Zombies pressed the Otherworldly Ghosts from both sides, leaving the Soul Thief exposed.
  • A volley of bone arrows knocked the Soul Thief down, and the undead stabbed him to death, causing his coffin and its imprisoned souls to vanish.
  • The Cheongsam Woman froze herself inside an icebox as the undead surrounded her.
  • The Death Avatar swept through the Otherworldly Ghost ranks, then smashed into the icebox and carried it into the air.

Ch. 176Head-On Collision

The Death Avatar dropped the refrigerator containing the Otherworldy Ghost Leader into the enemy’s main force, disrupting its giant commander and giving Gu Xi’s undead an advantage. Gu Xi charged into the Otherworldy Ghost ranks and used repeated White Bone Storms to cut a path into their heart.

  • The Death Avatar flew to fifteen hundred meters and dropped the refrigerator toward the main force of more than six thousand Otherworldy Ghosts.
  • The undead advanced in formation and overwhelmed the disorganized Otherworldy Ghost troops with repeated attacks.
  • The giant Otherworldy Ghost Leader prepared to scatter the undead with his club, but the falling refrigerator smashed into his weapon and left his hands trembling.
  • The Death Avatar dived toward the giant, while Gu Xi rode the Evil Coffin into the enemy formation.
  • Gu Xi used level 4 White Bone Storm repeatedly, cutting through the Otherworldy Ghosts and freezing those who tried to flee.

Ch. 177The Death Incarnation’s Self-Destruction

Gu Xi used White Bone Storms and the Death Avatar’s self-destruction to devastate the Otherworld Ghost force, then prepared to face the survivors with his Undead Army. As the armies closed in again, he targeted the Otherworld Ghost Monk, whose steps revived fallen ghosts, and called for the Death Avatar.

  • The Giant Otherworld Ghost Leader restrained the Death Avatar while another Otherworldy Ghost Leader stuffed balloons into its bones, but Gu Xi knocked the second leader down with a Bone Spike.
  • Gu Xi unleashed at least forty White Bone Storms to clear a path, then ordered the Death Avatar to use Dissolving Ray.
  • The Death Avatar exploded in the Giant Otherworld Ghost Leader’s arms, killing both leaders at the blast’s center and scattering the nearby forces.
  • Gu Xi advanced with the Undead Army as the survivors regrouped, and he summoned two Skeleton Priests after assessing the enemy formation.
  • Gu Xi spotted three surviving Otherworldy Ghost Leaders and chose to target the monk whose steps raised Otherworld Ghosts, calling out to the Death Avatar.

Ch. 178Another Victory

Gu Xi used the upgraded Death Avatar and summoned undead to defeat the Otherworld Ghosts and their leaders. The battle ended when the last Otherworld Ghost fell and the token beneath the City Gate lit up.

  • Gu Xi sent the Death Avatar after an Otherworld Ghost Monk, using the Mind Nether Lamp to make it ignore the Ghost Face Shield leader’s taunt.
  • The Death Avatar killed the Otherworld Ghost Monk with two Dissolving Rays.
  • Gu Xi summoned Zombies and Skeletons to drag down the Ghost Face Shield leader and prevent him from raising his shield.
  • The Death Avatar struck the leader and the rescuing Otherworld Ghosts with Death Dragon Breath, killing them as Gu Xi’s undead formation advanced.
  • The undead defeated the remaining Otherworld Ghosts, and the token beneath the City Gate lit up.

Ch. 179Purple Equipment—Shield

After the second wave of Otherworldy Ghost attacks ended, Gu Xi searched the battlefield and recovered the Otherworldy Ghost Leader’s belongings. He discovered that the powerful Ghost Face Skin was a Purple shield with dangerous abilities and drawbacks, and began considering what he could trade it for.

  • Gu Xi learned from the token that his battle had ended the second wave, then ordered his troops to collect equipment and materials and transport corpses to the Undead Scourge Magic Array.
  • A Skeleton brought Gu Xi the Otherworldy Ghost Leader’s White Baboon Skin package, and he found several unusual balloons inside.
  • Gu Xi dismantled the package into Broken White Baboon Skin and a Damaged Package, keeping the pouch and sending the balloons to Aryadovi City's City Gate.
  • Skeletons recovered the Ghost Face Skin, which Gu Xi identified as a Purple shield whose powerful abilities came with severe costs to its user.
  • Gu Xi wondered whether the shield and Ghoul Immortal Hand were meant for tanks, then considered what he could trade the shield for.

Ch. 180A Great Haul

Gu Xi received a haul of green-quality items, including a White Bone Bracelet and a Cabin Backpack that gave him the idea of using the Undead Scourge array to make a Farmer Cabin suitable for undead. As the final item arrived, he spotted something wrong and rushed toward the City Gate.

  • Gu Xi equipped the White Bone Bracelet, which increased his Intelligence and Summoning success rate, while his undead carried corpses and brought him White Baboon Skin.
  • Gu Xi received a Broken Giant Wooden Club and a Cabin Backpack containing sheep and Blood Wheatgrass, and considered whether he could convert the Farmer Cabin for use in his Death City.
  • Gu Xi ordered the Cabin Backpack moved outside the City Gate and continued inspecting the green materials brought by his undead.
  • After the last undead dragged in an item, Gu Xi exclaimed that something was wrong and sprinted toward the City Gate, leaving the Evil Coffin behind.

Ch. 181The Undead Calamity Array Under Invasion

Gu Xi discovered that someone had tampered with the Undead Scourge Magic Array by removing one formation base and replacing four others with fakes marked by clown faces. The Mage Leader sent replacement bases and investigated the other nodes while Gu Xi repaired his section and prepared for another attack.

  • Gu Xi told the Mage Leader that he had found a newly generated formation base removed from the array, and read out its serial number.
  • The Mage Leader activated the array and asked Gu Xi to inspect its nodes, where Gu Xi found four fake bases carved with clown faces.
  • Players at the other nodes began checking their own bases as the Mage Leader investigated the array-wide tampering.
  • The Mage Leader sent four replacement formation bases to Gu Xi and continued dealing with problems at the other nodes.
  • Gu Xi replaced the missing bases, organized his Undead Army, sent Gargoyles to scout, and began moving supplies back into Aryadovi City.

Ch. 182Crisis! The Severed Connection

Gu Xi reorganized his depleted forces and received two thousand Skeletons as a reward for discovering the sabotage of the Undead Scourge Magic Array. When the array’s nodes lost contact, red balloons weakened Gu Xi’s control over his Undead, and a giant Pirate Ship arrived above his node with Abomination Pirates ready to attack.

  • Gu Xi found that his Skeleton Soldiers and Zombies had suffered heavy losses, leaving his forces short-handed and many new Undead without weapons.
  • The Mage Leader sent Gu Xi two thousand Level 4 Skeletons, including 1,500 armed Skeleton Soldiers and 500 Skeleton Mages, as a reward for exposing the array’s compromised pedestals.
  • Gu Xi assessed his remaining Magic Potions and concluded he could summon Death Avatar twice more to withstand the expected final attack.
  • The token relayed a broken warning from the Mage Leader, and Gu Xi realized the enemy had severed contact between the array’s nodes.
  • More than a thousand red balloons burst over Gu Xi’s node, spreading colorful powder that weakened his control over the Undead Army.
  • A gigantic Pirate Ship hovered over the node as a Pirate Leader and more than a thousand Abomination Pirates prepared to attack.
