They reconciled and sailed aboard the Future with Cattleya, reaching the edge of a dangerous sea after encountering Agalito and a vast underwater fissure.
Angel and Klein crossed the God War Ruins, survived a dangerous expedition into the Forsaken Land of the Gods, and pursued clues tied to Bernadette, Rose Redemption, and Ouroboros. The arc ended with Klein entering The Travels of Grosell to rescue Edwina, only to find himself alone in a frozen wilderness.
Angel and Klein defeated Ulyssan, returned the trapped characters from The Travels of Grosell, and later entered the book to uncover the Tamara family’s history. Their escape from Bayam brought them into a battle with the Rose School, where Angel advanced to Despair and they captured Senior.
Angel and Klein returned to Backlund under new identities as Angel built a household and entered the city’s social circles. While investigating a possible Mirror Person and making uneasy allies, Angel learned the Demoness Sect planned to use Trissy as a vessel, and Azik departed to confront his past.
Angel and Klein joined the Church’s plan to eliminate the Mirror Person Pierce Turner and used Mr. X’s gathering to kill him while framing his death as a heroic sacrifice. The arc ended with Angel preparing for Dwayne Dantès’s ball as Klein faced a warning that the Goddess had noticed his oath.
Angel and Klein survive Adam’s test on Nameless Island, recover the Tyrant Card, and bring their findings to the Tarot Club. As Angel prepares to leave Backlund for Trier, Klein plans an infiltration of Saint Samuel Cathedral, while Xio, Fors, and Helene pursue their own journeys and work.
Angel investigated Trier’s Mirror People, exposed their agents, and fought Sirio Sauron at the corrupted site on 13 Market Avenue. She was trapped in Fourth Epoch Trier, where a seal tied to the Eternal Blazing Sun blocked her escape.
Angel escaped the Mirror World, reunited with Klein, and navigated church scrutiny, a charity gala, and a Spectator’s attack on Baron Cinderas. The arc ended with Angel preparing for the Pirate Conference as Klein faced Amon’s arrival and Helene was pulled into a mirror.
Angel joined the Pirate Conference, where Suah’s attack devastated the gathering before Mr. Fool helped remove the contamination from her spirit. As the Tarot Club dealt with the aftermath, Angel investigated the Abraham and Tamara families and joined Klein in tracking Ince Zangwill, while Audrey confronted her own intrusive investigation of Miss Empress.
Angel uncovered Hvin Rambis’s manipulation, helped capture a Rose School Wraith, and brought the corrupted Artisan Sharff to Bernadette’s ship. She then joined Klein and Azik in confronting Azik’s past before exploring Calderon City with Klein, where Ouroboros intervened and Ince Zangwill’s plans came back into focus.
Klein and Angel helped bring down Ince Zangwill and the Red Angel’s evil spirit, and Klein advanced to Trick Sorcerer before proposing to Angel. As the Tarot Club gained new members, Angel pursued answers about the City of Calamity and the Fountain of Youth while the Churches began searching for Ince’s royal-family ruin.
Angel and Klein’s engagement and investigations were disrupted by Amon’s attacks, while the Church warned them that his avatars were gathering Marauder characteristics and tracking their fates. The Tarot Club learned of the threat, and Leonard began discussing Pallez’s plan to eliminate the avatars as Angel took on the East Borough murder investigation.
Angel and Klein defeated Amon’s avatars in Backlund, freed their victims, and divided the recovered Worms of Time. Angel then secured military ties, gathered allies and intelligence on the Fountain of Youth, and persuaded the Tarot Club to create a layer of subordinate agents.
Angel pursued the Fountain of Youth, defeated its Trick Sorcerer guardians, and advanced to Sequence 3 as an Unaging Demoness. She returned to Backlund with new powers, while Shermane’s place in the Tarot Club was settled and Angel offered several Beyonder characteristics for sale.
Angel advanced to Unaging, pursued leads about the Great Smog and Roselle’s mausoleums, and helped Audrey expose Hvin Rambis’s schemes. The arc ended with Hvin dead and his confession linking King George III and the royal family to the Great Smog and a hidden ruin near Backlund.
Angel and Klein uncovered George III’s plan to become the Black Emperor and gathered allies while investigating the nine mausoleums. Their search exposed Angel as another transmigrator from Earth, though the circumstances of her arrival remained unclear.
Angel and Klein faced Feysac’s invasion of Loen while investigating the forces behind the widening war and preparing to stop George III’s Black Emperor ritual. The arc ended with Feynapotter joining the conflict and a Seer’s prediction of the apocalypse in 1368 looming over their plans.
Angel and Klein joined Nast Solomon in finding the Ghost Empire, then entered Dream City and uncovered Amon’s parasitism among its residents. The arc left them facing Nemo as the Worms of Time gathered inside him.
Angel and Klein thwarted George III’s attempt to become the Black Emperor, then faced the consequences as Amon seized control of Klein. Angel reached Klein in time to free him, while the story left her considering how to advance quickly enough to help him.
Angel advanced to Sequence 2, rescued Klein from Amon, and learned that the Outer Deities threatened the world while corruption spread through Dream City. She established her church and began investigating the danger as war loomed and Klein pursued the Planeswalker path.
