v3.23 gives every tier more. Free accounts get a preview and more searches, Reader can request novels, and Translator: Base can write wikis. You can ask to be told when a novel you want is added, and mute one novel's updates. Signed out, the site keeps your place on this device. Names hold better: a new name reaches only the chapters that miss it, a new fandom or genre fixes the chapters it touches, and web-novel slang keeps its literal form.

More on every tier#

  • Free accounts get 1 preview a month and 15 name searches (was 5). A free account can't upgrade its preview to the full novel.
  • Reader can request novels: 5 a month, with 10 previews and 50 name searches (was 5).
  • Translator: Base can generate wikis: 25 a month.
  • Translator: Pro has the same features as Translator: Base, with the biggest limits. Wiki generations are 200 a month (was 100). Pro members still on the old $25 price keep one and a half times that: 300.
  • Everything else is unchanged. See Pricing and limits, and your own numbers on the Limits page.

Requests#

  • Notify me when it's added. If your account can't request a novel, each result on the Request page offers Notify me, and so does a pasted link we can't take. You get one notification when the novel is on the site, then the alert removes itself. Alerts are private. See Novel alerts.
  • A novel we already have shows straight away. When your search names a novel on the site, the Request page shows its cover and title, linked to the novel.
  • Signed out, a link to the Request page shows a sign-in card instead of opening the sign-in dialog by itself.

Notifications and Library#

  • Mute one novel. Mute updates in a novel's Bookmark menu leaves it out of your chapter-updates digest. Unmute updates brings it back. See Preferences.
  • Chapter updates can leave out Plan to Read. Turn off Include Plan to Read in notification settings.
  • Each novel in the chapter-updates digest links to your next chapter, not the novel page.
  • Saved searches and Novel alerts have their own lists, each opened from a button beside Settings on the notifications page.
  • Home's Plan to Read row shows only novels you haven't started, so it's always full.

Reading#

  • Signed out, your place is kept on this device. Home shows a Continue reading row of the novels you read here, and a novel's Start Reading becomes Continue Ch. N. When you sign in, you're offered to add them to your library.
  • The last chapter ends with what's next: Follow for an ongoing novel, and Mark completed and Readers Also Enjoyed for a finished one.
  • A chapter that fails to load says why: too many requests (with a countdown), a server error or no connection. A chapter still being fetched is checked again once, 30 seconds later.
  • An empty chapter shows only its text. Rescrape and Retranslate stay in the toolbar above it.
  • Fewer broken chapters. A page that opens with the previous chapter's title is refused, and so is a source's "still being typed up" notice. twkan and novel543 notices and adverts are dropped.

Translation and names#

  • Web-novel slang stays literal, in every genre: "green tea" and "white moonlight" no longer turn into "fake innocent" or "ideal love".
  • In cultivation novels, 气 is Qi. Bearing, presence and killing aura keep their English sense.
  • Adding a fandom or genre fixes the chapters it affects. Chapters that miss the shared names it brings are redone.
  • A new glossary name repairs only the chapters that lack it. Chapters that already say it are left alone, so the fix is quicker.
  • A character's sex follows the original's pronouns, not a word like "daughter-in-law", so a danmei male lead is no longer "she".
  • A new novel's title and synopsis use the same character names as its chapters.
  • English titles translate the original faithfully, with no added subtitle or tagline.

Reports#

  • A 👎 for wrong names or missing text is checked automatically. When the check confirms it, the chapter is fixed or queued for a redo without waiting for a moderator, and you're told.
  • An approved 👎 says the chapter is redone the next time it's opened, instead of reading as already fixed.
  • Moderators: Fix names repairs only the paragraphs where a name drifted, far quicker than a full retranslation. A missing-chapters report shows the novel's chapter health and other sources to move it to.

Community#

  • Comments in Community Activity show the commenter's rating of the novel: Good, Neutral or Bad.
  • Short comments in other languages are translated too, such as "Terima kasih".
  • The activity feed shows just Ch. N on phones, as on a computer.
  • A new secret title: It's Not You, It's Me, suggested by a reader.

Novels and sources#

  • Recap previews show the whole summary paragraph, not cut off mid-sentence.
  • Browse's word-count filter and sort count a preview's expected length.
  • Novels missing a synopsis or author get them from DaoSearch when the title matches.
  • trxs.cc members-only books can't be added: most of their chapters need an account on that site. The request says so and suggests another source.
  • 69shuba.tw chapters load reliably again.
  • Moving a novel off a retired source keeps the chapters it already has.
  • The status page lists sources by how many novels each hosts.

Fixes and polish#

  • Fixed: on some Android apps with site storage turned off, the chapter reader didn't finish loading.
  • Toasts put their text on top and their buttons on a row below.
  • On a computer, the chapter's "How was this translation?" box matches the wiki box beside it.
  • The novel cover is centred when the header stacks beside the sidebar.
  • Home's Latest Updates chapter links are easier to tap.
  • The Account page's cards alternate grey and bordered, like the profile, and the DaoSearch row just says Connected as your name.
