"You mean this half-burned candle is the Mystical Item?"
Angel looked curiously at the small, oddly shaped candle.
"As long as you hold it and light it, you can enter the depths of my mind and resolve my greatest trouble. Of course, that's assuming you can defeat him."
"So how strong is he—or rather, you?"
Holding the candle, Father Utravsky sat back down on the bench.
"I was once a warrior," he said, his voice carrying both nostalgia and hatred for the past. "Before I came to Loen and began believing in the Mother Goddess, I was already a Sequence 6 Dawn Paladin."
Sequence 6... With a Mystical Item, sufficient preparation, and knowledge of him beforehand, I should have fairly good odds...
Angel assessed the feasibility of the task and continued asking,
"In the depths of your mind, will this candle weaken him, or weaken me?"
"Are you really planning to challenge him?" Unconcealed surprise showed in the priest's eyes. "While you hold this Mental Terror Candle, it won't harm you, but its effect on him in the dream is limited as well. At most, it will leave him as weakened as if he had just gone through an intense battle."
"Once you enter the dream, you can use all the abilities and Mystical Items you could normally use. So can he. He can also make use of the dream to drag you deeper, making it impossible for you to distinguish reality from illusion, tricking you into falling for his traps, or even turning the tables and hunting you down. And once this candle has been used for more than five minutes, you'll be completely lost. Your consciousness won't be able to return to your body in reality, and you'll become—well, in the doctors' words—a vegetable."
Dreams... That really is
