It was not until the latter half of the night that Angel returned to the safe house in the East Borough, traveling through sewers that ran throughout the city and unlit alleys.

The surrounding residents had long since extinguished their lights and gone to rest. She did not dare light the gas lamp either. Instead, she entered the bedroom in the darkness, removed her bloodstained clothes, roughly treated her wounds, and changed into a fresh set.

Angel had already drunk the Healing Potion she had bought from the Apothecary Darkwill while on the road. By now, the wounds inflicted by Ms. D through the Arbiter pathway's Beyonder Ability had mostly healed, though a small amount of blood still seeped out, quickly soaking the bandages. Fortunately, the potion made through an Apothecary's Beyonder Ability also possessed sterilizing properties, preventing the possibility of subsequent wound infection.

Only after dealing with all this did she have time to sit at the bedroom desk and carefully examine tonight's gains.

After Ms. D died, Beyonder Characteristics had undoubtedly been extracted. Yet aside from that bone-like dagger, there were actually two different Beyonder Characteristics. That was what puzzled Angel the most.

She first picked up the object wrapped in darkness with a faint glimmer of light within it. Placing it behind the palm-sized Magic Mirror, Angel stroked the mirror's surface and performed a Magic Mirror Divination targeting it.

"Magic Mirror, Magic Mirror, tell me, why did the owner of this Beyonder Characteristic disguise herself as someone else?"

This was the question she cared about most at the moment. Besides, the portion of the characteristic that belonged to Ms. D would rapidly diminish with time. If she did not conduct the divination immediately, she might get no result at all.

Images soon appeared on the mirror's surface.
