December 3rd, Monday.
Angel had gotten up early to transcribe the remaining two pages of Roselle's Diary. She sat in her study, quietly waiting for the Tarot Club to begin.
To prepare for her meeting with Panacea, Lady Despair, she had spent the past few days exhausting every possible means of improving her chances of survival. She rushed to produce enough special ammunition, carefully studied the Secret Book, strengthened her mastery of all sorts of Beyonder Abilities, and even went to a Beyonder gathering held at an abandoned Medical College in the suburbs to try to purchase a Mystical Item.
Unfortunately, not only had she failed to buy a Mystical Item, her efforts in every other direction had largely been futile as well.
It was not that her strength had remained stagnant. Through this period of intensive training, Angel believed that her command of her various abilities had improved greatly compared to when she had first advanced to Sequence 6. Yet, the gap of two Sequences still lay between Panacea and her like an insurmountable chasm. Those improvements were merely a drop in the bucket.
She could only seek help from the other members at the Tarot Club, perhaps even from Mr. Fool...
She gripped the Bone Spur formed from the Dawn Paladin Beyonder Characteristic in her hand and waited for three in the afternoon to arrive.
A flash of deep crimson light passed by, and Angel appeared on time within the palace shrouded in Gray Fog.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Fool." After Miss Justice had greeted everyone, Angel was the first to look toward the organizer of the Tarot Club at the head of the table. "I brought two pages of Roselle's Diary this time."
"Very good. What would you like in exchange?"
