So you wanted others to offer up everything... Was it because those cultists had already lost their ability to fight, so you simply turned them into headless monsters?

Watching the six people, some still alive and some freshly dead, tear off their own heads in unison and transform on the spot into the monsters wandering outside the cave and throughout Bansy Harbor was certainly shocking. But Angel had killed no fewer than a dozen flying heads and headless Zombies today, so she felt little emotional stir.

There were only a few of them. The Mandated Punishers could handle them...

She no longer paid attention to the headless Zombies spraying blood from their necks or the heads dragging their esophagi behind them. Instead, she looked toward Bishop Miller, whose entire body had swollen as he broke free of the thread bindings in a few movements. His bulging muscles stretched his bishop's robe so tightly that he looked more like a warrior than a "Wind-blessed."

Yet he did not attempt to use his suddenly increased strength to engage Angel in close combat. Instead, he took two steps back. Air currents blew from beneath his robe, lifting him swiftly off the ground.

The cave ceiling was not high. Miller quickly reached it using the updraft-fueled "Float." Hanging above everyone's heads, he seemed rather pleased with himself. The glow in his dark red eyes intensified as a thin, sharp Wind Blade formed in his hand and shot downward, aimed at Angel... or rather, Donna beside her.

Crack—

Angel instantly turned sideways to shield Donna. Her body shattered into fragments as she took the Wind Blade head-on, scattering across the ground. Another Angel appeared nearby, grabbed the bound girl, and pulled her into the dead angle beneath the altar, away from any possible follow-up attacks.
