Tap, tap.
Angel's footsteps echoed through the endless passageways.
She had no intention of concealing the sound of her footsteps. If anything, she hoped someone—or something—would hear them. It would be best if it were a local resident of Bansy, but even if monsters came, she could use that to determine where she was instead of remaining completely lost.
Unfortunately, after walking several hundred meters along the passageway, turning through several bends at different angles, and inspecting more than a dozen rooms similar to the Stone Chamber where Miller had lain, she found neither living people nor dead ones.
The passageway was just as narrow and cramped, its low ceiling seeming ready to press down at any moment and suffocate her. Every Stone Chamber contained nothing but countless corpses. Most had already become dry bones, while a few still retained barely visible shriveled tissue.
It was like some kind of communal tomb... but there were no names, no markers, as if everyone buried here could only be forgotten...
Angel evaluated silently.
She noticed that all the bodies were intact, none missing their heads. At the very least, that indicated this was not where cultists buried the victims after conducting Living Sacrifice.

It was as though the architecture had shifted into an entirely different style: ancient, weathered brick walls gave way to clearly more recent stone slabs, and the floor became far more orderly.
These changes gave Angel full confidence that she had not guessed the direction wrong.
She also noticed that scattered corpses had begun appearing along both sides of the relatively wider passageway. Unlike the earlier bodies that
