"Sorry, I'm only staying for a week."
Angel forced a smile and looked in the direction the waiter had pointed. A family of four was getting up from the sofa and heading out. The lone woman sensed her gaze, turned back, and gave her a friendly smile.
Everything was perfectly normal.
She carried her suitcase to her room on the third floor and quickly put away her belongings. Because of the waiter's rather inexplicable words earlier, she deliberately remained cautious and kept all her valuables on her person before going back downstairs.
The inn's first floor housed a restaurant. Although it was already afternoon, past the usual lunch hour, there were still quite a few people dining there. Most of the people in this port town were travelers or merchants here to discuss business, so meal times were irregular.
She ordered some local dishes from the menu, including fruit pie and pasta with meat sauce. While waiting for her food, she waved over a waiter and asked:
"Are there any interesting places nearby? The kind suitable for travelers who have come from far away?"
She had wanted to ask whether there were any haunted or paranormal locations, but that would probably frighten ordinary people, so she could only probe indirectly.
"Everyone goes to the nearby Spice Street. Um, it was originally called 'Seaside Avenue,' but because all the spice merchants are there, people gradually started calling it that. There are bars and casinos on that street, and they stay open at night too. Of course, if you're looking for some 'real entertainment,' perhaps you could ask the bartenders there."
The waiter had clearly misunderstood her and began recommending an "entertainment district." He even wore an ambiguous smile at the end, making Angel curious about what exactly this "real entertainment" was.
