Angel had first heard that Sequence from the Fourth Epoch evil spirit bound beneath Backlund. It had named Miss Sharron's next Sequence and offered its Potion formula and help with the Promotion Ritual in exchange for freeing it.
Of course, the evil spirit had offered Angel and Klein different terms, even including the Red Priest card. Angel had since obtained that Card of Blasphemy elsewhere, which meant there was a good chance the spirit had tried to deceive them with a false reward.
Sharron had, however, confirmed that "Puppet" was the correct name of the Sequence.
Prisoner, Puppet... Everyone mulled over the two names, adding them to their stores of mysticism knowledge. But a Sequence 4 Beyonder Characteristic was clearly beyond their reach, both in price and in their need for it.
"Miss Empress, may I ask where this Beyonder Characteristic came from? A damaged Mystical Item, perhaps, or someone you bought it from? Would possessing it attract unwanted attention?"
In the silent Tarot Club meeting, the Hermit's voice sounded rather sharp.
She's asking where the Puppet characteristic came from because she's worried about drawing another faction's hostility... Angel considered this for a moment, then answered slowly:
"It came from a demigod of the Rose School. The characteristic itself isn't corrupted, but I can't guarantee it won't be tracked."
Angel could have been vague and made up a story about buying low and selling high to make the characteristic sound safe. But that might have endangered another Tarot Club member. Whoever bought it could find the Rose School at their door without warning, so she chose not to hide the truth.
