"Shermane?"
Leonard asked, as if seeking confirmation.
The freckled girl with curly brown hair raised her eyebrows in surprise, a little taken aback that he had recognized her so quickly.
"Couldn't I just be some bold girl trying to strike up a conversation with you?"
Holding back a laugh, she countered with a question. Her lively, animated expression made her face quite pleasant to look at, even though it was hardly beautiful—or, rather, was the sort of face one might forget the moment one turned away.

There were quite a few abilities that could alter one's appearance. As a captain of the Red Gloves, he knew that a certain Sequence of the Seer Pathway could freely change facial features, height, build, and other external characteristics. Some abilities involving hypnosis and suggestion could achieve the same result.

Seeing that she could not fool Leonard, Shermane extended her right hand from beneath her cloak, showing him the back of it and the silvery-white ring on her finger, engraved with numerous intricate patterns.
"It's called the Madness Ring. Not only can it ignite other people's negative emotions in combat and send them into madness, it also gives the wearer an extremely ordinary face, one that's easily overlooked and forgotten. Otherwise, whether I want it or not, I attract far too much attention whenever I leave my face uncovered."
At this, she frowned, seemingly troubled by the matter.
