Could those puppets really walk on their own?

Was a rotating team of "experiment personnel" responsible for replacing the Underground Mausoleum Soldier Puppets directing them? With a riot breaking out in Molora, shouldn't all the enforcers have gone to protect the church?

Or were the steel puppets, now truly puppets of the Sealed Artifact, patrolling on their own?

Several questions sprang into Helene's mind in quick succession. She immediately held her breath and focused, hiding in a corner and shielding the faintly glowing lantern with her body as she listened carefully to the sounds nearby.

Clang, clang, clang.

The slow, heavy footsteps drew closer and closer, stopping about twenty meters away.

Then a familiar voice reached her, though it carried an additional metallic quality:

"Look what I've found. A nervous little mouse with her eyes covered.

"Did you come all this way just to become my subordinate?"

It's "Earl" Gusin... Even though Helene knew he was provoking her, the mockery and malice in his words made her blood surge. She wanted nothing more than to stand up and trade insults with him.

She simply stood, openly holding her lantern, and turned her black-cloth-covered eyes toward the voice. Without holding back, she retorted:

"Why aren't you in Church Square directing the riot you incited? What are you doing crawling into the Underground Mausoleum? Looking for a nice place to lie down ahead of time?"

As soon as she finished speaking, she silently moved on tiptoe, leaving the spot where she had spoken in an attempt to mislead him.

But no matter which direction Helene moved, she could feel a gaze fixed firmly on her, as though someone who needed no blindfold and dared to look directly at things in the Underground Mausoleum stood right in front of her.
