The blades that appeared out of thin air inside Baranka, the King of Curses, carried the powers of petrification, burning, rot, and decay. Grayish white, deep black, dusky yellow, and orange-red intertwined, as dazzling as fireworks, like flowers of death blooming across the gigantic puppet's body.
Almost instantly, holes riddled Baranka's body. Moments earlier, Baranka had been locked in an evenly matched battle with the enlarged Reinette, but now that shriveled, withered skin became tattered cloth, and the aura that stirred thoughts of madness weakened.
But almost simultaneously, identical wounds appeared on Reinette Tinekerr, who had returned to her normal size with her heads back in her hands. Her exquisite, elaborate court dress was torn open from within, revealing skin that had turned to stone or burned into charcoal.
The instant Baranka was attacked, the King of Curses used the connection formed by their earlier exchange of curses to inflict the same damage on Reinette through the Source of Curses!
