The mere appearance of this "Abomination's" two arms, with countless eyeballs turning on skin that oozed an oil-like liquid to look down below, filled the minds of the sailors aboard the Future with all manner of desires, plunging them into an inescapable frenzy.
Even Cattleya, a demigod, was no exception. She could only hold out a few seconds longer than her low- and mid-sequence subordinates.
But within those few seconds, Cattleya, clad in a black robe patterned with purple, arched her back. Two illusory white wings bulged beneath her robe, scattering feathers into the sky as though heralding an angel's descent.
But this was no angel. It was a swan, the swan that the "Ugly Duckling" had become.
With this ability, available only to a Sequence 4 Mysticologist, Cattleya could briefly reveal an incomplete mythical creature form for ten seconds without losing control or going mad.
As feathers scattered, cracks opened across her face, neck, and exposed hands. The flesh within condensed into black-and-white eyes, which turned upward to stare directly at the equally grotesque and terrifying eyeballs on the Abomination Suah's arms.
A torrent of convoluted, useless knowledge surged upward into Suah's mind, briefly stopping this Archangel, who had yet to fully descend, from spreading madness and desire.
Cattleya did not waste those precious seconds. Bypassing the sailors, she took direct control of the magic ship beneath her feet, intending to leap from the sea and fly into the fog and snowstorm, blocking his line of sight.
But she had underestimated the fundamental gulf between Sequence 4 and Sequence 1. Even with part of her mythical creature form revealed, she could never truly restrain an Archangel.
Suah instantly broke free of the ocean of knowledge. His two enormous hands pushed outward, pulling the massive body connected to his arms
