The Arrest Begins

In the northern Cathedral District of Trier stood the Archbishop Cathedral of the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery. Unlike the more than twenty Church of steams of varying sizes scattered throughout Trier, it was the hub of the entire Trier Diocese, including the surrounding regions.

She adjusted the lady's bowler hat on her head and followed the worshippers constantly entering and leaving the church into the immense building, where steam whistles sounded at regular intervals and the creaking of machinery and meshing gears echoed from within.

Everything Fors had come to Trier to accomplish had already been completed. Not only had she secured the rights to several novels that sold well in the Loen Kingdom, she had also bought many non-duplicate pages of Emperor Roselle's Diary. If she used them sparingly, they would be enough for her to make intermittent offerings at the Tarot Club for a month.

For the remaining few days, Fors planned to visit Trier's various sights, such as Triumphal Square and Shady Avenue. She had even secretly visited the Red Princess District, gazing from afar at City Wall Street, which was as famous as Bayam's Red Theater, gathering material for her next novel.

Naturally, the largest church of the God of Steam and Machinery on the North Continent was also one of her destinations.

Every day at noon, hundreds of chimneys atop the church would simultaneously spew steam, turn levers, and ring the great bell. It was a spectacle countless believers eagerly awaited.
