After night fell, Angel finished her dinner and took a carriage to Saint Samuel Cathedral in the North Borough, accompanied by her maid.
She did not have the carriage stop beside the square, but half a street away instead. Then she left her maid and driver behind and made a few adjustments to her disguise. Beneath her cloak, she used the "Falsehood" ring to turn into a young woman with black hair and a round face, bearing a few of Trissy's distinctive features. Only then did she stride openly into the cathedral's Prayer Hall.
After listening to part of the mass, she went to the donation box and dropped in five pounds. She accepted the thanks of an unfamiliar pastor and, seeing that no one was paying attention to her, was about to head toward the concealed door in a corner of the Prayer Hall when two figures emerged from it one after another, blocking her path by chance.

Angel instinctively moved to turn aside and avoid them, but then reconsidered. Since their parting in Tingen, she had yet to have a proper conversation with these two companions. Even when they had joined forces to deal with Ince Zangwill in Cookawa City in the Northern State, they had only exchanged a few brief words. So she merely turned her face to one side. When she turned back, her blond hair and purple eyes had returned, and her appearance was closer to how she had looked in Tingen.
