Chapter Summaries

Lin Feng followed Tapu Koko into an Alolan forest to find the mother of his Tsareena, using Energy Cubes and Evergreen Power to get help from the local Bounsweet. He found the Tsareena sitting dazed in a tree hollow, and the chapter ended before they reunited.

• Lin Feng explained his search to Tapu Koko, which followed him and Mewtwo into the forest.
• Lin Feng asked a Bounsweet for directions and offered it an Energy Cube; it pointed him toward a Tsareena searching for her child.

Lin Feng found Tsareena’s mother, showed her that her child was safe at his Breeding House, and brought her along to reunite with Bounsweet. After deciding to stay in Alola for the night, he noticed Tapu Koko and watched as she challenged Mewtwo to a battle.

• Lin Feng showed Tsareena photos of her child, and her Joy Value rose from -35 to 90 when he assured her that Bounsweet was safe.
• Lin Feng explained that Bounsweet was at his Breeding House in the Donghua region, and Tsareena agreed to travel with him.
• Lin Feng caught Tsareena in a Luxury Ball and said she would soon reunite with her child.

Tapu Koko unleashed its full power against Mewtwo, but Mewtwo endured the attack and overwhelmed it with a barrage of varied moves. Professor Kukui discovered Lin Feng watching from Dragonite’s back and realized the mysterious Pokémon might belong to him.

• Tapu Koko summoned storm clouds and surrounded Mewtwo with powerful lightning, but Mewtwo survived with only scorched hands and scattered the clouds using Psychic Power.
• Mewtwo suddenly appeared beside Tapu Koko and struck it with Ice Punch, then continued attacking with Fire Punch and other Skills as Tapu Koko struggled to defend itself.
• Professor Kukui recognized that Tapu Koko could not win and watched Professor Burnett’s footage reveal a man riding Dragonite outside the Battle Arena.
• Professor Kukui suspected the man’s Pokémon was Mewtwo, while Lin Feng watched the battle and recalled that Mewtwo’s dish had permanently boosted its Psychic-type Skill Power.

Lin Feng and Mewtwo defeated Tapu Koko in a sparring match, then healed it before leaving, prompting Professor Kukui to wonder about Lin Feng’s origins and Alola’s lack of a League. Lin Feng returned to the Pokémon School area, discovered he had no usable local currency, and agreed to camp for the night; Mewtwo then wanted to meet Alola’s other guardian Pokémon.

• Mewtwo defeated Tapu Koko, and both Pokémon acknowledged the other’s strength.

• Lin Feng told Tapu Koko that Mewtwo had gone to battle its companions, and Tapu Koko went to make sure Tapu Lele did not cause trouble.
• Mallow invited Lin Feng into Aina and offered him a room after learning he had nowhere to stay.
• Mallow served Lin Feng butter stew, and he explained that Mewtwo was a Psychic-type Pokémon who had gone to challenge other Pokémon.
• Lin Feng released Dragonite and Tsareena, reassured Tsareena that he would take her to see her daughter the next day, and gave them food.

• Tsareena cried as it reunited with its daughter, and Lin Feng comforted it and urged it to introduce its mother to everyone.
• Gardevoir took Lin Feng to the new house so he could change his soaked clothes, and Mewtwo demanded to know where the powerful Pokémon was.

• Mewtwo spent two days pondering its defeat by Giratina and decided it wanted to become stronger so it could challenge Giratina again.
• Mewtwo drank more than sixty liters of Pujiu Wine in an attempt to increase its Psychic Power and became drunk.
• Lin Feng found Mewtwo in the Cow Shed, stopped it from losing control with its Psychic Power, and explained that wine alone would not help it catch up to Giratina.
• Lin Feng suggested that Mewtwo could evolve to gain strength, and Mewtwo immediately understood.

Lin Feng explained Mega Evolution to Mewtwo, then tested it with Gardevoir using a Mega Stone and Evolution Keystone. Gardevoir successfully Mega Evolved and reassured Lin Feng that he and the Breeding House made it happy.

• Mewtwo asked how it could Mega Evolve, but Lin Feng admitted he did not know the method.
• Lin Feng brought Mewtwo to Gardevoir and proposed trying Mega Evolution with it.
• Lin Feng and Gardevoir used the Mega Stone and Evolution Keystone, and Gardevoir Mega Evolved successfully.
• Gardevoir told Lin Feng that its happiness came from him and the Breeding House, and expressed surprise that the Mega Evolution had worked.

Lin Feng demonstrated Gardevoir’s Mega Evolution and told Mewtwo it could Mega Evolve by surpassing its limits. Mewtwo’s first attempt to reach space failed, and it chose the sea for its next challenge.

• Gardevoir Mega Evolved, and Lin Feng explained that Mewtwo would need to surpass its limits to Mega Evolve without a Mega Stone.
• Mewtwo accepted Lin Feng’s advice and flew toward the sky to test its limits.
• Lin Feng and Gardevoir caught Mewtwo after its failed attempt, which left it with minor scorch marks and frostbite.
• Mewtwo recalled seeing the planet and a powerful black dragon near a meteorite, then retreating when its Psychic Power began to run out.
• On December 3rd, Mewtwo chose the sea as its next challenge.

Mewtwo left the Breeding House to train by seeking out Legendary Pokémon, while Mew returned and joined Lin Feng and the others at the villa. Mew asked Lin Feng for food, and he prepared to hear about its time in the Water Capital.

• Mewtwo encountered Kyogre in an undersea trench, then returned to the Breeding House and told Lin Feng it wanted to train.
• Lin Feng gave Mewtwo a Rotom and supplies, and watched it set off to seek Legendary Pokémon.
• Lin Feng found the Breeding House Pokémon gathered around the television and discovered that one of the Alcremies was Mew in disguise.
• Lin Feng caught Mew, who changed back and asked him for food from its Storage Ball.
• Lin Feng offered Mew Chocolate with Liquor and asked about its time with Latias and Latios in the Water Capital.

Latios worried that Latias had been sleeping excessively and considered asking Kanon to find a doctor. In Jirachi’s dream of the Water City, Mew brought Lin Feng and several Pokémon to meet Latias, who had been spending time with Jirachi in the underground garden.

• Latios found Latias asleep again and worried about her worsening sleepiness, deciding he should consult Kanon and a human doctor.
• Mew used hypnosis to bring sleeping Pokémon into Jirachi’s Water City dream, where they flew and explored with Lin Feng.
• Mew led Lin Feng and the Pokémon through an illusionary wall into the underground garden, where they found Jirachi with Latias.
• Latias startled at the newcomers and turned invisible, but Jirachi introduced Lin Feng as the human who made delicious food.
• Latias revealed herself and recalled how Mew had disguised herself as Kanon to introduce Jirachi, frightening Latias before she chased the little Pokémon.

Latias met Lin Feng in Jirachi’s dream and became fascinated by him after learning he knew her habits and had made the food and wine she enjoyed. After taking Lin Feng for a flight, she questioned how he knew so much about her, while Gardevoir found the Pokémon asleep around Lin Feng in the villa.

• Latias drank Pujiu Wine and ate Energy Cubes with the little cat, then passed out and met Jirachi in a dream.
• Jirachi told Latias that Lin Feng knew about her life in the Water Capital and that his cooking had shortened Jirachi’s sleep to one year.
• Latias sought out Mew and Jirachi to hear more about Lin Feng, then met him in a dream and grabbed his hands to fly him over the Underground Garden.
• Latias changed into Kanon’s appearance and put Lin Feng on a swing, while he realized her growing friendship likely came from drinking Pujiu Wine.
• Gardevoir found Lin Feng and several Pokémon asleep on the villa sofa, sent the Pokémon to their rooms, and Latias continued asking Lin Feng how he knew so much about her.

Lin Feng met a young Latias in a dream and invited her to visit his Breeding House if her brother agreed. After waking, he learned that Officer Roxanne Jenny had arrived to take responsibility for the Wutong Town area.

• Lin Feng teased Latias about her questions, then told her he had used Future Sight to defeat her and earned her admiration.
• Latias wanted to visit Lin Feng’s Breeding House, and he told her to discuss a short trip with her brother and come with Mew next time if he agreed.
• Lin Feng woke in his room, and Blaziken told him that a guest was waiting downstairs.
• Roxanne Jenny introduced herself as the officer assigned to Wutong Town and asked Lin Feng for his assistance.
• Roxanne declined Lin Feng’s invitation to stay for lunch and continued visiting households around town.
• Roxanne later took up duty in a simple shelter near the town entrance and patrolled with Arcanine.

Lin Feng watched Wutong Town grow as new residents and businesses arrived, then Sprigatito evolved into Meowscarada and became distressed about its appearance. He showed Meowscarada what it would look like after evolving again and offered an Intermediate Rare Candy, leaving it willing to continue its evolution.

• Lin Feng learned that residents had returned to and moved into Wutong Town, where new houses and a restaurant were being built.
• Sprigatito sensed its impending evolution and transformed into Meowscarada.
• Meowscarada saw its new appearance in the mirror, decided it was ugly, and ran upstairs to hide in its cabinet nest.
• Lin Feng showed Meowscarada a picture of its next form and offered it an Intermediate Rare Candy.
• Meowscarada nodded that evolving into the pictured form would be fine.

Lin Feng encouraged Meowscarada to train and battle so she could evolve faster, then planned drills to help her master her skills. By December 9, Meowscarada had begun the Sky Challenge, with Pidgeot launching a Wing Attack at her.

• Lin Feng gave Meowscarada a Rare Candy, raising her Energy Level to 23–24, and explained that training and battles could speed up her evolution.
• Meowscarada chose to grow stronger despite the cold, and she and Lin Feng agreed to train together.
