Lin Feng let Growlithe evolve into Arcanine, who immediately went to visit Roxanne’s Arcanine, Ah Hua. Lin Feng discovered Arcanine seemed to have a crush on her and decided he would support the pursuit while teaching Arcanine how to behave.

• Lin Feng offered Growlithe a Fire Stone, and Growlithe evolved into a level 29 Arcanine.
• Lin Feng let Arcanine roam freely as long as it did not set anything on fire, and Arcanine rushed off to find Ah Hua.
• When Arcanine had not returned by dinner, Lin Feng found it waiting outside the security station and staring at Officer Jenny’s Arcanine.

Lance received Blue’s evidence of Team Rocket’s research facilities and prepared the League to raid them while Lin Feng planned to destroy five offshore facilities and rescue their Pokémon. On March 24, Lin Feng and his Pokémon began their operation at one of the islands.

• Lin Feng praised Indeedee sister and learned that a Pokémon had traded fresh bamboo shoots for Berries.
• Indeedee sister told Lin Feng that an Ice-type Elite Four had cleared the Sky Challenge and asked to challenge him, so she had arranged for her to return later.

After Lin Feng showed it Psychic Power and explained what Trainer battles meant, Ponyta challenged his Pokémon while he fed nearby Furret, and Lin Feng then entered the flower garden.

• Ponyta explained that it had come out to grow stronger and challenged Lin Feng to battle.
• Ponyta charged Lin Feng with Double Kick, but he stopped it with Psychic Power and explained how Trainer battles worked.
• Ponyta challenged the three Eevee and Alolan Ninetales while Lin Feng fed the Furret, but it lost every battle.
• Lin Feng encouraged the exhausted Ponyta and walked into the flower garden, where flowers had bloomed throughout the grounds.

Lin Feng welcomed a group of Bounsweet and Florges into his garden and caught up with Arcanine. He then spent the next two days making Energy Cubes and brewing wine, while Mewtwo challenged Giratina and lost again.

• Lin Feng counted thirty-two Bounsweet and three Florges in the garden and told them they could look after its flowers.
• A Florges welcomed Lin Feng, and the Bounsweet happily gathered around him after learning he owned the garden.
• Arcanine stopped himself from pouncing on Lin Feng, then led him into the Cow Shed to tell him about talking with Officer Jenny's Arcanine.
