Bright had no particular thoughts about Tesoro pulling strings behind the scenes and deciding that Apu would be the Longarm Tribe's chosen contestant before the talent show had even begun preparations.
After all, Tesoro was organizing the whole talent show. What was wrong with preselecting the winner?
He was only surprised by Tesoro's wild idea. Making someone who looked like Apu into an idol was truly a bit too out there.
But on second thought, Apu's abilities really were well suited to the stage.
He would not need any instruments at all. His body alone could play beautiful music.
He could even create all sorts of dazzling effects without any technological enhancement.
With that talent, becoming a star was indeed quite fitting.
So, how did Apu react to this?
His head was bobbing like a pecking chicken. "Yes, yes, of course I'm willing!"
It was clear that he knew nothing about what awaited him. He was merely doing his best to avoid being punished.
Right.
This guy was also very good at reading the wind.
Seeing Kaido's power, he joined the Beasts Pirates and helped Kaido plot against Kid and Hawkins.
Then, during the battle of Onigashima, when he saw the Beasts Pirates on the verge of collapse, he hurriedly chose to betray them.
Apu was that sort of opportunist, even worse than Hawkins.
Although Hawkins had also chosen to surrender to Kaido, even after foreseeing Kaido's defeat, he had not chosen to betray him again.
Logically speaking, someone like that was absolutely unsuitable as a subordinate. But Tesoro only wanted to form an idol group, so it did not matter.
Thus, Bright said nothing and merely watched quietly. He was actually a little curious—how far could Apu go?
Or rather, did people in this world even care about looks?
