Wapol really was a man who knew how to read the situation. In the original story, after being sent flying and losing everything, he had still known to honestly rely on his ability to set up street stalls and make his fortune. He was not a completely brainless fool.
He knew full well that he absolutely could not resist Bright now. Since resistance was impossible, he could only choose to submit.
Bright's assessment of him was that although he was an idiot, at least he was an idiot who understood the situation.
After sending Tesoro back to work on his new base, Bright took Wapol to the arms factory in the Sea Forest.
Now that the secret government knew Tom was on Fish-Man Island, there was no longer any need for him to keep hiding here.
Bright planned to move this arms factory somewhere else more secluded later. After all, he felt that the World Government was very likely to send people to assassinate Tom.
This concerned Pluto. Those people would probably be capable of anything.
"Brother Bright, who is this?"
Tom looked at Wapol, whom Bright had brought over. Wapol wore a broad smile and had a somewhat simple-minded look, leaving Tom rather puzzled.
"This guy is someone I brought over to help you, Tom."
Bright said, "He's a Paramecia-type Munch-Munch Fruit user. He can recombine anything he eats."
Tom froze for a moment, not yet understanding what that meant.
So Bright glanced at Wapol. "Demonstrate your ability."
"Yes!"
As though he had been electrocuted, Wapol immediately stiffened, standing ramrod straight as he answered loudly. He was terrified that the slightest wrong note in his voice might anger Bright and bring disaster upon himself.
He immediately began using his ability.
