"This is a great opportunity, isn't it?"
Bright said with a smile, "We were just wondering how to deal with so many captured Marines, and now the Government has come knocking."
"I think so too."
Zephyr smiled as well.
They had already planned to release the surplus Marine soldiers, and now the Government was rushing over to negotiate.
Didn't that mean they should make an exorbitant demand?
"Then I'll reply to them now," Bright said.
"Mm."
Meanwhile, at the heart of the World Government, inside the Five Elders' office.
"Five Elders, we have received a response from Bright."
A CP0 agent respectfully entered the Room of Authority and solemnly reported to the five old men, "They have agreed to negotiate."
"Very good."
The bearded Five Elder nodded.
As long as they were willing to negotiate, that was enough.
If Bright and Zephyr had chosen to resist to the bitter end and simply executed Sakazuki and all the others, the Government and Marines would have had no choice but to watch helplessly.
"Have you tracked Bright's location?"
The white-robed Five Elder carrying a sword asked impatiently.
"My apologies."
The CP0 agent shook his head. "Their counter-surveillance measures are excellent. We were unable to locate Bright through the communication."
"That is hardly surprising. Zephyr was once a high-ranking Marine officer, after all."
The bearded Five Elder snorted. "Besides, isn't that bastard Morgans working with Bright? I needn't say more about his expertise in intelligence."
"I just find it rather regrettable."
That was what the white-robed Five Elder said.
"Yes, truly regrettable," the blond Five Elder agreed.
If they had truly been able to pinpoint Bright's location, then everything that followed would have been simple.
All they needed was for that person to act, and Bright and Zephyr would be sent to heaven
