Marine Science Unit Research Base.
"What the hell is Caesar up to? Is he treating us like prisoners?"
A man was flying into a rage.
No, strictly speaking, he was not a man. He was a fish-man.
But neither was he a complete fish-man. He had been transformed from a human.
His name was Doberman, a Vice Admiral at Navy Headquarters who had become what he was now after participating in the fish-man project.
Vice Admiral Doberman was in a very bad mood.
Being transferred by the Government to assist the Science Unit's research had not been a problem. Obeying orders was a soldier's duty.
But after arriving at this new Science Unit base, all of them had been ordered to stay in their rooms. Unless they were needed for an experiment, they were not allowed to leave at all.
That bastard Caesar, the new chief scientist of the Science Unit, had said that Bright had found Punk Hazard without any difficulty last time. For him to locate a secret Government base so easily, someone must have tipped him off.
The most likely suspect was Vegapunk.
That meant there might still be spies left behind by Vegapunk and Bright within the Science Unit, so secrecy was essential.
Doberman could barely accept that explanation.
But being confined to a cramped room every day, with even meals passed through the little window in the door, was simply too suffocating.
It was practically prison.
But Doberman had no choice.
Cooperating with the experiments was an order directly from the Five Elders. As a career soldier, he could neither argue against it nor disobey it.
"I wonder how Gion and the others are doing?"
Doberman sighed as he thought of his captured comrades.
He himself was safe and sound here, but they had fallen
