After taking a rough look around the city and finding nothing else of value, Bright and the others went to meet up with Doctor Vegapunk.
The old man was still enthusiastically tinkering with the robots.
The tiny robots gathered around him with cheerful grins.
These robots clearly possessed a certain degree of intelligence, yet they did not resist Vegapunk's handling. They smiled as they let the old man examine their bodies.
"Did you find anything?"
As he descended from the sky, Bright asked with a smile.
"This is incredible!"
The old man looked up, full of excitement. "Nearly a thousand years ago, the Bikans had already mastered artificial intelligence technology at this level! They even installed it in basic patrol soldiers like these!"
Bright did the math. A thousand years sounded like a long time, but in truth, it was only several decades, perhaps nearly a century, before the Bikans migrated.
"Haha, I've occasionally found the wreckage of robots like these in the Blue Sea. So they were left behind by the Bikans?"
The doctor was fascinated.
Not just wreckage, Doctor.
A man out on the seas had inherited this technology.
Bright remembered clearly that, in the original story, after Enel flew to the moon, he encountered robots created by Doctor Tsukimi. They looked almost exactly like these little ones.
After Doctor Tsukimi was startled by a sudden explosion from the moon while eating and choked to death, these robots rode balloons to the moon.
Bikan technology was still being passed down across the seas, and there were probably quite a few inheritors.
But none of that mattered now.
After all, in the coming war, the things that would truly prove useful were the Ancient Weapons, the greatest technological creations of the Bikans.
"What an incredible nation!"
