Background / History

World Beasts are super lifeforms born from the Supreme Laws to embody destruction. Each is born with an internal World and the instinctive knowledge that it must devour other World Beasts to become the final King. Their First through Sixth Orders belong to the gestation period; the mature stage is described as a Seventh Order existence beyond ordinary True Gods. 477 610 617

Their natural habitat is the Dim Land within Qingfeng Realm. The World Beast Lair is governed by continual cannibalism: weaker beasts are hunted for the Origin contained in their internal Worlds, and temporary alliances usually collapse once they cease to be useful. The intended outcome of this process is one World Beast King, an invincible existence in the Universe Sea. 483 486

When Xiao Yu entered the Dim Land aboard the Ice Cliff Fortress, vast numbers of World Beasts responded with coordinated soul attacks and pursued him as an intruder. Xiao Yu withdrew because killing every free World Beast without first enslaving one would still allow the final survivor to become a King. 478

The Jin World's legions later invaded the Dim Land, accelerating World Beast evolution by forcing battles and restricting teleportation. World Beasts that had previously preyed mainly on peers began consuming lower-order members to advance faster, while Fourth and Fifth Order individuals such as Bedi became major threats to the invading legions. 624 625 629 631

After fleeing Qingfeng Realm, many World Beasts began devouring the Origins of mini universes and the Original Universe itself. Xiao Yu enslaved the Fourth Order World Beast Gai to locate them, while Luo Feng enslaved Molosa. Mohe became the sole Sixth Order World Beast in the Universe Sea but was killed by Xiao Yu, leaving the remaining World Beasts subject to the Fifth Iron Rule and the final contest for Kingship. 647 649 650 651

Appearance

World Beasts are generally portrayed as grotesque, ferocious creatures surrounded by black mist or black light. Their individual appearances vary, but early-stage specimens are repeatedly depicted with black bodies, monstrous heads, and a distinctly malevolent aura. 477 478 617

• Molos/Molosa is described as having black, wrinkled skin; two hideous heads; and one eye on each head. 477

World Beasts are intensely proud and regard themselves as inherently noble. Even the weakest creature in the lair aspires to become the final King, making mutual trust rare and betrayal commonplace. 486 623

Their internal rivalry does not prevent cooperation against outsiders. When Qingfeng Realm was invaded, World Beasts interrupted ongoing duels and coordinated attacks against the legions; this unity against foreign enemies is described as ingrained in their life genes. 623 624

They can communicate telepathically over great distances, transmitting warnings, coordinating hunts, and sensing when one of their kind has been enslaved. An enslaved World Beast is immediately treated as an enemy by the rest of the species. 624 647

Devouring

All World Beasts can consume divine power and the Origins of universes, including mini universes, Sacred Land Universes, and the Original Universe. They also strengthen themselves by devouring the Worlds, bodies, and Origins of other World Beasts. 588 610
