A magnificent palace stood amid the deep sea, displaying its splendor and distinction.
As undersea people, Atlanteans had long ago developed the ability to command marine creatures.
Soldiers riding dolphins and sharks stood in neat formations outside the palace.
They awaited the king's command before launching an all-out assault on land.
Within the royal palace, beautiful mermaid attendants carried trays, smiling sweetly.
Each wore a lovely smile, yet their gazes invariably drifted, intentionally or otherwise, toward the silver-armored man seated upon the throne.
The white-haired man was Atlantis's king, Aquaman Orm.
Orm stroked his trident, his expression dark.
Just moments ago, his military adviser had brought him the latest news: the Arctic Ocean forces had been completely wiped out, cause of death unknown.
The crushing news struck Orm's heart like a sledgehammer, casting a shadow over his mind.
It reminded him of the chancellor's warning, as well as Jino Luthor, known on land as the God of Man.
Everyone around him had told him that the Justice League was powerful, and that Jino Luthor was even more terrifying.
(PS: During the Dark event, Orm and all Atlanteans were drawn into Barbatos's nightmare, so they had no idea what had happened on land.)
But Orm did not want to hear it. Deep down, he did not believe land-dwellers were any nobler than ocean people!
Undersea people were the finest, and this was one of the key reasons Orm insisted on destroying the land.
He would not allow those uncivilized monkeys to occupy the land and constantly dump trash into the homeland where Atlanteans lived.
