Background and History

Former life and reincarnation

Tang San was formerly an outer disciple of the Tang Sect in another world. He secretly stole the sect's supreme treasure and cultivation knowledge, including the Mysterious Heaven Skill, before jumping from a cliff when exposed. His soul reincarnated into Tang Hao's son in the Douluo world. 244 279

Tang Hao eventually learns through Shi Nian's Remnant Dream that Tang San is not the original son he raised, but an outside soul occupying that body. Despite this discovery, Tang Hao keeps Tang San alive for his own plans. 245

Nuoding Academy

After awakening both Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer, Tang San is taken by Tang Hao to Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy. He becomes Yu Xiaogang's disciple and trusts him without question, immediately taking his master's side against Yun Qi. 4

Yun Qi interferes with the apprenticeship and steals Tang San's Mysterious Heaven Skill along with a year of his cultivation progress. Tang San notices the sudden loss of Soul Power and progress but cannot determine its cause. 4 5

Tang San later obtains his first Soul Ring from a Mandala Snake after Tang Hao avenges the He Yuan Soul Beast incident. The ordeal leaves Tang San and Yu Xiaogang traumatized and increasingly reclusive. 9

Yun Qi's adopted son

Tang San's poverty and need for recognition make him receptive to Yun Qi's calculated generosity. Over time, he begins calling Yun Qi “Brother Qi,” values his approval above Yu Xiaogang's, and accepts Yun Qi as his father. 22 105 109

After acknowledging Yun Qi as his father, Tang San agrees to forge hidden weapons for the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Yun Qi supplies him with gold and sends him to Suotuo City to recruit blacksmiths and arrange production. 109

Tang San also gives Yun Qi his Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges after Yun Qi presents him with the corpse of a ten-thousand-year Ironclad Sword Dragon. He is moved by the gift and accepts the difficult task of processing the enormous corpse himself. 44

Exposure, betrayal, and the City of Slaughter

Shi Nian traps Tang San in a Remnant Dream that forces him to relive his former life and theft from the Tang Sect. Tang Hao intervenes and kills Shi Nian, but the dream exposes Tang San's secret to him. 244 245

Bibi Dong later publicly reveals Tang San's former life, his connection to Tang Hao and the Blue Silver Emperor, and his theft of the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record. To survive, Tang San offers Spirit Hall the knowledge he brought from his previous world. 279

In exchange for a request, Tang San asks to kill Yu Xiaogang personally. He tortures his former teacher for half an hour before killing him, ending their master-disciple relationship. 280

Tang Hao subsequently seals Tang San's Soul Power and subjects him to waterfall training with the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer. The training opens his meridians and raises him to Level Sixty within a year. 284 286

After losing his Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul and falling back to Level Fifty, Tang San enters the City of Slaughter. The loss of his storage tool and martial soul drives him into despair; he begins killing and consuming people to survive. 289 294

Hunt for power and godhood

Tang San hunts increasingly powerful Soul Beasts in the Star Dou Great Forest. He kills the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, absorbs its spirit ring, and resolves to become less arrogant in future battles. 395 398

He then kills the Human-Faced Demon Spider Emperor, gains the Eight Spider Lances External Soul Bone, and absorbs its fifty-thousand-year spirit ring. The Eight Spider Lances evolve to the God-tier Realm after devouring the spider's fluids. 400 401

Tang San defeats three Ninety Thousand Year Thousand Jun Ant Emperors and simultaneously absorbs all three of their spirit rings. The ordeal nearly destroys his body, but it earns the Clear Sky Hammer's full recognition and greatly increases his power. 404 405

After inheriting the God of Wrath's divine position, Tang San repeatedly clashes with Angel God Qian Renxue. He uses terrain, Explode Ring, divine power, and hidden weapons to survive encounters with an opponent whose raw divine strength exceeds his own. 408 417 446

He Yuan army

Tang San cultivates his He Yuan descendants into a rapidly reproducing force at the border between the Heaven Dou and Star Luo Empires. He empowers them with Wrathful Divine Power, uses their deaths and fear as resources, and personally defeats powerful Soul Masters who attempt to intervene. 453

Appearance

Tang San is initially described as scrawny, underdeveloped, and poorly nourished; in Suotuo City, he is only a little over 1.5 meters tall and shorter than Xiao Wu by a head. 22

  • Usually wears blue during his academy years. 22
  • Becomes visibly taller after a year of waterfall training under Tang Hao. 285
  • After losing his Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul, his body becomes shorter and his appearance worsens. 289
  • In the City of Slaughter, hunger and injury leave him skeletal, pale, and ghostlike. 294
  • His body develops blackened meridians, muscles, bones, and internal organs after absorbing the Thousand Jun Ant Emperors' spirit rings. 405

Personality

Tang San is intensely driven by survival, strength, and the desire for familial approval. He initially trusts Yu Xiaogang completely, then transfers that dependence to Yun Qi, whom he treats as both an elder brother and father. 4 105 109

He is resourceful and patient when dealing with equipment, cultivation, and combat. He collects materials obsessively, forges hidden weapons, studies the coordination of his abilities, and exploits terrain or enemy weaknesses whenever possible. 23 399 446

His pragmatism often turns ruthless. He advocates exterminating enemies rather than leaving future threats, agrees readily to kill Yu Xiaogang for divine power, and later treats his He Yuan descendants as expendable instruments for his own growth. 138 275 453

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses the rare combination of Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. His two martial souls let him obtain additional spirit rings and switch between control-oriented techniques and overwhelming physical force. 4 406

  • Blue Silver Grass — used for restraint, battlefield control, sensory perception, and drawing strength from surrounding Blue Silver Grass. 395 410
  • Clear Sky Hammer — his primary assault martial soul; its immense weight and dominance support direct combat and ring-based amplification. 258 405
  • Mutated Clear Sky Hammer — can briefly suppress Angel God Qian Renxue and withstand the absorption of three powerful spirit rings. 408 405
  • Limitation: His two martial souls suffer internal conflict, and his Blue Silver Grass is lost during part of his later journey before being used again in subsequent battles. 267 289 410

Mysterious Heaven Skill

A cultivation technique stolen from Tang San's former Tang Sect life. It merges internal force with Soul Power, supports recovery, and forms the foundation of many of his techniques. 4 244

  • Circulates through his meridians to restore Soul Power and strengthen his body. 284 417
  • Enables the use of hidden-weapon techniques without relying solely on Soul Power. 245
  • Yun Qi steals both the technique and a year of Tang San's cultivation progress during Tang San's apprenticeship. 4
  • Its circulation becomes obstructed when Tang San loses part of his meridians. 227

Hidden Weapons and Forging

Tang San is a skilled blacksmith and hidden-weapon maker who manufactures weapons from rare materials and deploys them with Tang Sect techniques. 44 109

  • Uses refined iron needles, Bone-Piercing Needles, Armor-Piercing Needles, Overlord Needles, and other compact projectiles in battle. 262
  • Creates weapons for Yun Qi using gold, blacksmith labor, and materials from the Ironclad Sword Dragon. 109 227
  • Keeps a private reserve of weapons instead of giving all of them to Yun Qi. 244
  • His weapons are ineffective when Shi Nian places him completely inside the Remnant Dream illusion. 244

Godly Zhuge Crossbow

A powerful concealed crossbow that fires sixteen bolts simultaneously. 244

  • Can strike a target directly with a dense volley of bolts. 244
  • Tang San stores it in his Soul Tool when he realizes it cannot affect Shi Nian inside the Remnant Dream. 244
  • Later helps him kill the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger. 398

Blue Silver Grass Techniques

Tang San develops several spirit abilities around restraining, piercing, and controlling opponents. 395 400

  • Spider Web Restraint — creates a large net to bind or restrict targets. 395
  • Blue Silver Overlord Spear — a charged single-target attack and his strongest offensive Blue Silver Grass spirit ability. 400
  • Purple God Light — a Spiritual Power-based mental shock capable of piercing through physical obstructions such as poisonous fog. 398 400
  • Blue Silver Delay Claw — a powerful restraining skill requiring several seconds of charging. 397
  • Blue Silver Grass resonance — temporarily draws upon the Blue Silver Grass of the Star Dou Great Forest to produce god-level attacks without using spirit skills. 410

Great Sumeru Hammer

A Clear Sky Hammer cultivation method centered on persistence, dominance, and overwhelming direct force. Its mastery causes Tang San and his hammer to act as a unified whole. 405 413

  • Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer — a chained hammer technique used in training and combat. 284 396
  • Explode Ring — detonates spirit rings to convert their full power into immediate combat strength. 412
  • Limitation: A martial soul used for Explode Ring cannot use spirit skills until its rings recover. 419
  • Risk: Repeated use severely damages Tang San's meridians, slows his recovery, and leaves him physically weakened. 416 417

Eight Spider Lances

An External Soul Bone obtained from the Human-Faced Demon Spider Emperor and evolved through devouring its fluids. 400 401

  • Evolves into the God-tier Realm after absorbing the spider emperor's energy. 401
  • Can block attacks, stabilize Tang San's body, and withstand the impact of the Thousand Jun Ant Emperors. 403 411
  • Produces Devouring Black Silk, which binds, corrodes, drains, and kills enemies. 404
  • Can devour portions of Qian Renxue's Angel God Power, though doing so damages the lances and Tang San's body. 411

Domains and Wrathful Divine Power

Tang San gains god-level abilities through the God of Wrath's inheritance. 405 446

  • Divine Slaughter's Domain — helps suppress and direct hostile spirit-ring energy during dangerous absorption. 396 404
  • Wrathful Divine Power — supports high-speed flight, healing, and escape from god-level pursuit. 408 417
  • God of Wrath Mark — aids his restoration after catastrophic internal damage. 405
  • Wrath Domain — used to command and empower his He Yuan forces in the war against the empires. 457

Thousand Jun Ant Emperor Spirit Skills

By absorbing three spirit rings at once, Tang San gains powerful abilities from the Thousand Jun Ant Emperors. 404 420

  • Thousand Jun Barrier — a hundred-thousand-year defensive skill that greatly reduces incoming god-level damage. 420
  • Earth Ant Emperor Slash — a straight-line attack that can break earth and open a path underground. 420
  • Gravity Control — used with the Clear Sky Hammer to counter physically overwhelming opponents. 403

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges — former storage Soul Tool given to Tang San by Yu Xiaogang; Tang San later gives it to Yun Qi. 44
  • Godly Zhuge Crossbow — sixteen-bolt hidden crossbow reserved for emergencies. 244
  • Various hidden weapons — needles, projectiles, and forged mechanisms produced through Tang Sect methods. 109 262
  • Divine flight cloak — a refined divine tool that enhances Tang San's ability to fly. 446
  • Sea God Trident — appears in Tang San's hand during his battle with the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger. 395

Relationships

  • Tang Hao — biological father in Tang San's current life; alternates between protecting, training, exploiting, and distrusting him after learning Tang San's soul is not his original son's. 245 283 286
  • Yu Xiaogang — first master and former teacher; Tang San initially trusts him absolutely, but later tortures and kills him. 4 280
  • Yun Qi — adoptive father figure whom Tang San calls “Father” and seeks to please; Yun Qi repeatedly manipulates Tang San for cultivation techniques, labor, and rewards. 109 227
  • Bibi Dong — Pope who publicly exposes Tang San's past life; she agrees to his request to kill Yu Xiaogang, then orders his capture. 279 280
  • Qian Renxue — Angel God and major god-level opponent; Tang San survives multiple confrontations through tactics, divine power, and Explode Ring. 408 446
