The Heaven Dou Empire had once been one of the three great empires of the Douluo Continent. It had split from the Heaven Dou Empire and had the Body Sect as its guardian sect, making it exceptionally powerful. Its sect master, Du Busi, was a level-98 Super Douluo.
Shrek Academy was located within the Heaven Dou Empire's territory.
"The old man and I lived in the Heaven Dou Empire. I wonder if those people will come back." Several days later, Tian Mucheng stepped into the Heaven Dou Empire once more. Looking at the cities of the Heaven Dou Empire put him in an especially foul mood. Thinking of how the old man had held those people back to buy him time to escape made his heart churn with irritation.
"There was nothing we could do. We were too weak back then, so what else could we have done?" Jin Tianming sensed the hatred within his original body and spoke up to remind him. He truly feared that his original body would be blinded by hatred and do something irrational.
Tian Mucheng closed his eyes and drew a deep breath before slowly opening them again. His gaze became profound and distant.
Memories of the past surged into his mind like a tide, scene after scene flashing continuously through his thoughts.
He remembered the winding path he had walked with the old man as a child, wildflowers of every color blooming along the roadside as the breeze carried their fragrance. He also remembered that old house. Though somewhat rundown, it had been filled with warmth and comfort.
Guided by those deep memories, Tian Mucheng began his search. He passed through bustling streets, avoided the crowded throngs, and followed roads that felt both familiar and strange. With every step, those memories became clearer.
Finally, as he turned a street corner, a familiar building appeared before him.
That was the home he and the old man had once shared! Time had left the house looking weathered, but it still stood quietly there, as though waiting for its owners to return.
"I didn't expect them to preserve it so well." Jin Tianming was somewhat surprised to see the house completely intact.
Without a second thought, Tian Mucheng walked into the courtyard. "Let's go in and take a look."
Jin Tianming followed. He had just checked the surroundings and found no trace of anyone around the house.
Tian Mucheng came to the front door, took out a key, and slowly opened it. Once the door opened, Jin Tianming entered first. He looked around and saw nothing but dust-covered furniture and walls draped in cobwebs.
"Those people came here." Jin Tianming swept his gaze over the furniture that had been moved and drew his conclusion from the original body's memories.
"Then do you think they came for the soul bone, or something else?" Tian Mucheng asked curiously. He truly wanted to know whether those people had come for the soul bone or another item.
"Original body, don't you already have the answer?"
Jin Tianming rolled his eyes at his original body. He already knew the answer, yet he still had to ask.
His original body had fled so far back then without encountering any pursuers, which meant those people had no idea what was inside the box. So they had not come for the soul bone at all.
Seeing that Jin Tianming had no interest whatsoever, Tian Mucheng said disappointedly, "You're really no fun sometimes!"
"Then you should find an amusement clone and have him keep you company."
"I'm afraid he'd mess with me until I died."
The two chatted as they searched for clues. After a long while, Tian Mucheng stopped beside the bookshelf on the second floor, staring fixedly at several books that had no dust on them.
Jin Tianming moved closer curiously. "What is it?"
"Some books on the shelf don't have any dust on them. That's strange."
Tian Mucheng explained his reasoning, then reached out, took out a book, and flipped through a few pages. Finding nothing unusual, he put it back.
Just as Tian Mucheng was about to take another book, Jin Tianming seemed to sense something. He immediately grabbed Tian Mucheng's hand. "Original body, wait."
Tian Mucheng withdrew his hand and asked through mental communication, "What is it?"
"Someone's here!"
Jin Tianming replied before walking to the hallway window, where he saw several people approaching the house.
"Looks like there are still rats around."
Tian Mucheng also walked to the window. Looking at the people outside, he asked, "Can we kill them?"
"I'm arrogant, not an idiot!" Jin Tianming rolled his eyes at his original body, then asked, "What do we do now?"
"Wait to die."
Jin Tianming:
Outside the house, a group of people arrived before the courtyard.
"You really saw two young boys walk inside?" A middle-aged man looked at the rat-faced man standing before him and asked.
The rat-faced man hurriedly answered, afraid of slighting him. "Yes, sir. I truly saw two young boys walk in just now."
"If it's true, I'll give you five Gold Soul Coins." The middle-aged man said to him, "If it's false, you understand what that means!"
"Yes, yes, yes."
"I completely understand, sir. I absolutely did not deceive you."
The man repeatedly assured him. If he had seen wrong, he would never have reported it to this lord.
The officer had his subordinates enter first, only stepping forward after they did. The rat-faced man followed behind the officer.
As for leaving, the officer had not paid him yet.
The door opened, revealing two young boys standing there waiting for them. Everyone was stunned. Why were these two boys standing here waiting for them?
"A trap?" The officer stopped, his stern gaze fixed on the two boys before them. He asked calmly, "Little friends, why are you here?"
Hearing the middle-aged man's question, Tian Mucheng calmly watched the officer and asked with a smile, "Uncle, don't you remember me?"
"You are?"
The officer looked at the somewhat familiar boy in confusion. Had he met this eight- or nine-year-old boy before?
"Were you the dog who led your master here back then?"
"I still remember you, Uncle!"
Seeing that the middle-aged man seemed to have forgotten him, Tian Mucheng gave him a reminder.
With that reminder, the middle-aged officer immediately remembered who the boy was. He was the boy the old man had kept by his side back then. "It's you!" He was utterly astonished. Why did this fellow dare come back to die? Was he tired of living?
"Looks like you haven't forgotten me, Uncle!"
Seeing that the officer had finally remembered him, Tian Mucheng's smile became even brighter.
The middle-aged officer felt uncomfortable all over when he saw Tian Mucheng's smile. He sensed that something bad was about to happen and immediately ordered his men to seize the two. "Capture them!"
Looking at the soldiers closing in, Tian Mucheng said helplessly, "Are you really that impatient?"
As soon as he spoke, golden light erupted from both Tian Mucheng and the silent Jin Tianming.
"What's going on?" one soldier asked in confusion.
"Who cares? Get them!"
Another soldier did not bother thinking about it. Two White Spirit Rings rose around him as he lunged at the two boys.
A sharp crack rang out as countless fine golden fissures suddenly appeared across Tian Mucheng and Jin Tianming's bodies. Like spiderwebs, those cracks spread rapidly.
In an instant, dazzling golden light burst from the fissures, so brilliant that it completely enveloped everyone present and the house itself!
Then, accompanied by an earth-shaking roar, BOOM! Tian Mucheng and Jin Tianming's bodies exploded simultaneously! Countless streams of golden light surged outward like a flood, destroying everything in their path.
The people around them did not even have time to react before they were completely swallowed by that terrifying golden light...
The house was razed to the ground along with those people, as though it had never existed.
Inside a hotel in the Heaven Dou Empire.
Jin Tianming opened the room window and let in a golden bird. Looking at Tian Mucheng, who lay on the bed drained of all strength, he remarked, "It seems this soul skill of yours consumes quite a lot."
"It was my first time using it. I didn't expect it to devour all the Soul Power in my body at once."
Tian Mucheng gasped for breath and said helplessly. He truly had not expected the Explosive Dragon-Soul Doll to consume so much Soul Power. It had nearly sucked him dry.
Seeing his original body in this state, Jin Tianming kindly advised, "You should be more careful next time. If you keep playing like this every time, your body definitely won't endure it. You're already so frail, yet you still play like that."
"It's fun. I like it!"
Jin Tianming:
His original body was kind of absurd sometimes.
He recalled the bird he had refined with the Gold Element. A small box fell into his hand. He glanced at it without any intention of opening it, then tossed it beside Tian Mucheng, who lay on the bed.
Tian Mucheng glanced at the box but did not rush to open it. He continued lying there to rest. How could he possibly have the strength to open it now?
At that moment, he could not even move a single finger. His body was truly too fragile.
