Crusader Knights Clash with Wolf Knights

"Get your gear and mounts ready. We're heading down the mountain."

Leon led several dozen Texas Cowboys. These fierce light cavalrymen had performed brilliantly in the previous battles and had earned considerable respect from Charles and his companions.

"Where to?"

"Reconnaissance, obviously. We need to find out exactly how many men, how many cannons, and how many Land Cruisers the enemy has. Aren't you Mr. Lothar's retainer? Don't you have even this much battlefield experience?"

"If you don't explain it clearly, how am I supposed to know what we're doing?"

Charles was speechless. Though those landships were still unfamiliar contraptions to him, after these past days, he had gained some understanding of this era's style of warfare. By analogy, he simply regarded firearms as more powerful bows and crossbows.

Charles and several Middle Ages cavalrymen who had become Templar Knights and mastered Seeds of Holy Radiance swung onto their mounts, then galloped across the steel suspension bridge connecting the mountain city to the outside world.

"Mr. Leon, shouldn't we pray first?"

Baron Charles reminded him, "Before setting out."

"Pray? To whom?"

Leon found the question rather baffling. They were wolfkin—were they supposed to pray to Romulus?

"Of course, to the Heavenly Father!"

Baron Charles earnestly reminded him, "He can protect us and help us survive the rain of bullets."

Leon frowned. "Listen, Baron. I think people are like machines, not all that different from other mammals. So I've never believed in any nonsense about God creating man."

Denying that God had created man meant denying the Bible, let alone all the other doctrines of the Church.

Baron Charles was somewhat puzzled. "How do you know?"

"I've dissected them myself. Don't look at me like that. Haven't you ever killed anyone?"

Baron Charles said disdainfully, "I have, but I wouldn't deliberately
