The door creaked open.
Anna pushed open the half-closed door. A kerosene lamp burned in the room, its dim yellow light illuminating the six figures seated inside.
There was that handsome coal miner. He had washed the coal dust from his face and sat in the middle, his straight back making him look nothing like a miner who toiled hunched over in the pits all day.
There was also the female miner who had given her "strength." Anna could hear her slow heartbeat, as though it resonated with her own body. The closer she drew to her, the more excited the blood in her veins became.
The other four were beautiful ladies as well. Even hidden beneath broad-brimmed hats and work clothes, it was still obvious.
"I knew I hadn't misjudged you, little girl."
Fringilla curled her lips, revealing a pair of little fangs. With a pleased expression, she raised a hand and moved a chair over beside Anna.
Anna sat down somewhat awkwardly. Even after turning dark, she still felt as fragile as before in front of these six figures.
"Who exactly are you people?"
She gathered her courage and asked.
The only man smiled and pointed at the Wolf Girl with short chestnut hair beside him. "This is Lavinia, whose Russian name is Natasha. This is Prajna, Fringilla, Cherinina, and Jeanne."
Anna hurriedly replied, "Anna. Just call me Anna."
Lothar studied Anna carefully. This slight young girl looked only fifteen or sixteen, dressed in a ragged padded coat covered in patches and wearing a pair of old leather boots that did not fit her.
As his Dragon Blood Kin, fused with Fringilla's blood servant, immense power now lay within her.
