Early the next morning, the 2nd Guards Division, having suffered a heavy defeat, finally got serious.
Hundreds of the strongest Guards Division soldiers donned individual armor. They revved their chainsword blades, the piercing buzz echoing through the factory buildings. Behind them stood lightly armored infantry holding large-caliber mana hand cannons, as well as incendiaries wielding small flamethrowers.
As kings of trench warfare, Armored Infantry had almost surpassed the killing capacity of conventional weapons. Aside from spellcasters, the only rebels who could threaten them were a handful of elites capable of using mana rifles.
Dozens of spellcasters formed a tight formation. Nearly all were classmates from the same academy, and their coordination was exceptionally seamless. Their protective spells quickly combined into a canopy of magic that even legendary spellcasters would be unable to break through in a short time.

The 2nd Guards Division's attached artillery brigade alone had forty-eight French-made 75mm rapid-fire cannons, in addition to an armored assault battalion composed of three hundred sets of individual armor and two Land Cruisers.
