The Kido Corps' headquarters was far from the other barracks of the Gotei 13. Perhaps because of the nature of their work, it had been established on the westernmost side of the entire Seireitei, the area closest to the Dangai.
Asano Kiyoshi and Nel looked at the somewhat shabby courtyard before them, faint surprise appearing on both their faces.
Neither of them was the type to pursue flashy appearances, but the Kido Corps was one of the Soul Society's core institutions. No matter what, it should not have been so dilapidated that even its gates had several holes in them.
Nel looked at the slightly damaged gates and said to Asano Kiyoshi,
"Looks like the place we've been assigned to has a serious budget shortage~"

Nel merely smiled and nodded, without voicing any complaints. To her, as long as she could be with Asano Kiyoshi, any job was acceptable.
Besides, honestly speaking, this environment was much better than the warehouse at Urahara Shop, which had been filled with the smell of rotting wood.
The two exchanged a smile before slowly walking through the gates of the Kido Corps'
