Under the cold moonlight, the pale white sands were forever shrouded in a faint sorrow.
Asano Kiyoshi and the others rested temporarily beneath a massive boulder. Since arriving in Hueco Mundo, they had already endured three or four waves of attacks, all concentrated between last night and the early hours of this morning.
As a result, almost no one had gotten much rest throughout the night. Everyone was in poor spirits, with one exception.
That was Maruya Naoto. This guy's stamina was terrifyingly good.
Even after dealing with several waves of Hollow attacks, he still looked unsatisfied. He even wanted to head deeper into Hueco Mundo alone to find stronger enemies.
Asano Kiyoshi merely tried to dissuade him.
"Beings of that level aren't something you can defeat yet. You fight to enjoy the slaughter, not to throw your life away."
Maruya Naoto did not argue after hearing Asano Kiyoshi's words. He merely lowered his head and continued wiping down his blade.
Asano Kiyoshi was telling the truth. Based on how they were portrayed in the anime from his previous life, even the most basic Lower-Level Great Hollow, a Gillian, required at least the strength of a Fifth Seat to defeat head-on.
With the abilities of a seventh seat like Maruya Naoto, he might be able to wear one down by exploiting a Great Hollow's low intelligence and using a series of tactics.
But kiting it and slowly whittling down its health only worked when there was a single Great Hollow. If they encountered two or more, there would basically be no room to fight back.
After all, Great Hollows were enormous. They were thick-skinned, absurdly powerful, and both tough and dangerous.
Still, those were minor matters. What Asano Kiyoshi found difficult to deal with now was the air of despair
